Wrong. The nose is structural and designed to absorb energy just like the current noses.

Just to be clear, that penis sticking out the front is not an extension on the length of the nose. The noses are the same length as the current noses, but the end of them is allowed to be narrower. Teams could taper the nose so that the transition isn't as abrupt as that image.

The nose will need to serve the same crash structure purpose as the current nose, so they most definitely won't be thin and designed to fly off.

little harsh on perez imo, think he has more potential than button, button is just reliable. Lotus sticking with RG looked worse than perez initially

Anywhere with a spot is going to be a serious step backwards from McLaren, and the 2012 Sauber. Perez was given an opportunity with McLaren, didn't make the most of it, and will suffer as a result.

Its a bit of a shame, I quite like the guy.

On the other hand, it looks like Maldonado could be hung out to dry, which makes me

Perez does seem a nice guy and I really do hope he gets a drive next year. Much better driver than Maldonado.

I just cant see it, they would have signed him by now. More chance of FI. It seems Hulk is holding out, but with most top places signed if lotus nated Hulk why no deal. Probably need the money as well, which Perez has.

Yeah maybe, it's interesting that mclaren took him, gave the drivers average machinery this year and then apparently he isn't as fast as button and they dont think he will be so he's out.

Something else must be going on. Sometimes you just don't see the best of drivers until you give them the machinery. I don't think it's fair to write them off without the machinery. Then you get drivers like rubens, DC and Irvine who get long careers having the best machinery and winning squat.

Mclaren certainly didn't mind having Dc for years or Kova when it suited.

I hope Perez can bounce back from the set back, like Button did when he was written off after a stint at Benetton. I think Perez at least deserved a 2nd year.

Did I hear somewhere that McLaren have postponed their new title sponsor announcement planned for the 2nd December?

I wonder if the bins at the back of McLaren are full of Telmex McLaren Mercedes branded gear they no longer need

It does seem a bit unfair on Perez at face value, but Mclaren have all the data and telemetry... if they think Magnussen will do a better job then so be it.

I do like Checo though, hope he gets a drive somewhere else and hopefully with a decent car.
