The way I see it he's got the Lotus brand all over a car that's running at the right end of the grid without it costing the company anything.

Explain to me what's so bad about that?

Well, they were being paid for the lotus name 2 years ago, all the bad will thats now against them due to the courtcase, ditching the market they are known and highly regarded in with phantom products that may never see the light of day, the morale from people that I've chatted to at hethal seems as low as it's ever been due to his management style.

I really can't think of anything positive he's done for the Lotus brand. Everything he's done has made it appear worse.

To be fair to Dang Bahr, its not him that's brought this about, its the change of ownership of Proton and the sudden potential for no more money to be coming Lotus' way.

While people may not have liked the new plans from Lotus Cars, they were at least fully backed by Proton. However I can't help thinking this is the start of the end. If the new owners put a stop to Danys plans, what is there left for Lotus Cars?

By fully backed, do you mean having huge loans signed against protons assets with no hope of having lotus pay them off? ;)

Lol, you would assume that Proton thought that Lotus' plans would pay off.

Wether the new owners share this view is yet to be seen. But if they come from the real world where people realise that lotus competing with Porsche is simply not gonna happen, then it doesn't look good for Lotus.

Test/Development drivers have limited use now there is an (almost) ban on in season testing. Williams are 'doing a Marussia' and just getting some positive press and attention by signing a female driver.

Better looking than the Marussia one though ;)

Edit: I thought I was confused and couldn't remember seeing a Susie Wolff in DTM. Her maiden name is Stoddart.

Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of the Formula One group, added: “If Susie is as quick in a car as she looks good out of a car then she will be a massive asset to any team and on top of that she is very intelligent. I am really looking forward to having her in Formula One.”

Bernie you old dog. :D

just when i thought williams couldnt get any lower...

i hope they get out of the sport before they become the joke team
Care to elaborate? Stoddart is a good driver - certainly with better credentials than the squeaky voiced crash magnet, De Villota.

Yes she is the wife of a chairman blah, blah, but who cares? I respect them more for not taking a bucket load of money from some young Eastern no hoper for a bunch of straight line tests.
