BTCC at Brands every time, even though you can't see most of the circuit.

Ah but you can! The Indy Circuit is amazing for spectating as you can see most of it from a lot of the spectator places, but I like you assumed that the GP circuit was off limits out the back.

However I went with my Dad to see some Historic racing earlier in the year and discovered you can spectate from all the way round the GP loop too! Its on the inside of the track so you don't see much from any specific point other than the corner in front of you, but you get really close and the track is great out there.

I think I've talked myself into going on Sunday if its sunny.

No, I meant for spectating you can only see so much at once, unlike the Indy circuit (which actually sucks for racing in my opinion, but does allow for good coverage) and Knockhill.

I've walked Brands a couple of times now after racing, though MSV are total arses for throwing people off their tracks. It's a nicewalk, even if you ignore it being a track, and a fairly historic one at that.

If you can get pitlane access (and I have) then the view from the paddock is excellent. I will go for a wander round the GP loop though.

Big crash in the Bathurst qualifying.

Blimey, thats a huge amount of damage! Hopefully they'll get it rebuilt all ok, really looking forward to seeing if Chas can replicate his brilliant drive last year in an even better car! Although will be supporting Frosty and Scott McLaughlin (Volvo fan for life)

Edit - Reading Autosport, fractured left femur and wrist. 3 marshalls injured, but all ok.

Good to hear those marshals are ok. The video blocked out any clear visibility on whether they were thrown out of the marshal post or were able to jump out of the way quick enough themselves.

Well well, RB bluffing hasn't worked.

Looks like Ferrari have decided not to give them 2016 spec engines.

Ferrari, or Arrivabene, are saying that it is too late in the year for them to get a 2016 supply ready for RB. Mercedes seem to be saying a similar thing. The current rumour seems to be that as the RB Renault agreement hasn't been dissolved just yet and lasts until 2017 that RB might use Renault engines next year and do their best to negotiate equal 2017 engines with Mercedes or Ferrari. I reckon if this happens then Mercedes and Ferrari will increase the price of an engine supply, you know just for a laugh. ;)

I hope that's true. Mind you they will still moan about something and blame it all on someone.

"Red Bull back in talks with Renault over F1 engine supply" from autosport :)

Thoroughly sick and tired of Red Bull, just want them to push off now, the sport would be better off without them.

Endless whinging about Renault then they throw their rattle out of the pram and terminate the contract with no alternative plan. Idiots. Now we have Bernie pleading with Mercedes to change their minds, which would be a disaster.

Hope both Mercedes and Ferrari stick to their guns and tell RB where to shove it and these supposed talks with Renault come to nothing. I kind of feel for the drivers but the sport as a whole would be better off without Red Bull right now, they're causing more problems than they're worth and are always moaning about something when they're not winning.

Haha! Brilliant :D I hope they say no, all the criticism Red Bull dished out towards Renault, they should tell them where to go

Well it must be expensive for Renault to buy out Lotus and everything. Perhaps the 2016 Renault engines just got a bit more expensive to help cover the expenses of buying Lotus. ;)

Maybe Renault will still tear up their current agreement with RB, agree to a special one-off one year engine deal which just happens to be quite a bit more expensive than RB are paying now. :D

You can all laugh and joke and **** of RBR all you like, but losing Red Bull would be a very bad thing for F1 as a whole.

They need to secure an engine, otherwise F1 will have a big problem. Its already got a massive problem in operating in a structure that allows manufacturers to force someone they think might beat them to leave the sport.

F1 is broken. RBR leaving will only break it more. This is bad news if you are a fan of F1. People need to put their 'RBR hate goggles' down for a second and see the big picture. Mercedes and Ferrari are being allowed ban anyone else from racing them.

Whilst that is true Skeeter it could also be argued that RBR have brought this upon themselves. They never acknowledged Renault's contribution to their era of dominance, publicly insulted Renault this season and have left it quite late in the season to start agreeing a deal for another engine supply. Perhaps they thought that calling everyone's bluff would work for them but in reality it doesn't seem to have done so.

Some of the reports about the potential repurcussions of RBR's exit from F1 include mentions that the RBR prize money would be redistributed amongst all the other teams. Would Manor, Sauber, Force India etc really care about the future of F1 in the medium to long term if they got a share of RBR's prize money to fix their own short term issues?
