Ferrari have been quite open about how they are happy to supply STR, so I think their engine deal is safe.

However if RBR don't get one then I can't see Red Bull wanting to run just the B team, so their fate is likely still tied to RBR.

This sums up RB(from the link below)

"RBR jumped out of the plane, thinking they’d bought a parachute which was strapped to their backs and then discovered on the way down the rucksack was empty."

So there was another meeting but RB never got back to Merc.

What we don't know is the timing of things. It could be that Daimler pulled the plug on a Mercedes deal before Red Bull had a chance to go back with the responses to their requirements.

Things did all happen rather quickly from the point Red Bull served notice on their Renault deal.

Can't see a Honda deal happening just yet...

Even though Honda signed an agreement with the FIA to supply two teams in 2016, apparently Big Ron is having none of it...

Probably because a Red Bull with a Honda engine will be faster than a McLaren with a Honda engine. Ruining his whole 'works' style plan he had by the change to Honda power.

Wouldn't surprise me if TR are faster then McLaren with Honda engine. :) They showed this year that they can beat RB with same engines at times.

He likes British comedy, so actually has a sense of humour, he's great in interviews and was great on top gear. It's just a) german b) that finger.

It will be good to see if he can keep that up when he's fighting for the title.

I think he's always been just resigned to being behind the Mercedes this seasons and so is willing to be self deprecating.

He was likeable in the Top Gear episode he was in as well.

Tbh I can see why he might be royaly peed off and be at the point of just saying screw it.

They have invested massively in becoming a successfull team, and now because they are successful they may be forced out of the sport.

Sets a worrying presidence for any non engine manufacturer teams on the grid. As soon as you look like you might be competitive, you will lose your engine supply...

Could you clarify how you feel they are being forced out? Have seen you post that on numerous occasions. Not having a go, just interested as to why you feel that is the case.

Because the 3 alternative engine suppliers to the one they have don't want to supply them for fear of being beaten, and the one they do have doesn't want them.

It's funny that he's saying the Renault unit is hopeless and is then trying to sort a deal with Honda.

It is quite scary that the manufacturers can openly admit that the reason they don't want to supply them is because they're worried they'll beat them and it's seen as an acceptable reason to force a team out.
