V8s will never be back on the table. It's just Ecclestone doing his usual 'Let's suggest something completely stupid that cannot work so that the solution I want seems more reasonable'.

It's not Bernie. Did you read the link? I'll help you out :)

"◦Ron Dennis says he could not vote in favour of such an agreement, as it would mean breaking his contract with Honda"

"◦Dennis suggest all existing engine supply contracts should be terminated, which was strongly opposed by Mercedes customers"

Ron's veto threat was regarding the FIA proposal to force manufacturers to supply 3 to 4 customers, which would break the contract McLaren currently have with Honda that has a maximum of 2.

Its in the part of the article you conveniently chose not to quote while cherry picking things out to make something up and/or backtrack because you posted something stupid.

Just catching up on what was approved by the WMSC last week.

Obviously we know the new Qualifying rules have been confirmed, based on the original full knock-out format.
The deadline for the 2017 rules has been extended to 30th April 2016, but now only relate to PU as;
The 2017 proposed aero changes have been accepted, which presumably includes the cockpit head protection.

There is still ongoing discussion on the PUs, relating to the €12m cap planned for 2018, with a €1m reduction in PU cost in 2017 as an interim, and the rules around effectively "forcing" manufacturers to supply teams if asked. This is all based on the current V6 format being extended to run until 2020.

The point is valid though - she's won absolutely nothing in her entire career.

I want to see more women in motorsport but her presence/appointment is counter-productive. When she's clearly there for no reason other than because she looks good mooching around the garage in race overalls, it just demeans women in motorsport.

Another Suzie Wolf then? There must be some talented female drivers out there but why do teams seem to sign the mediocre ones?

Look at these forward-thinking teams giving women in F1 a chance*

*a chance meaning one practice or test session per year

Was it the other season when Bottas was injured and they didn't even give Wolff the reserve opportunity? Sutil came in didn't he?

Wolff wasn't the reserve driver, she was only signed up for "development" duties.

She (and Jorda) would have been better than some of the pay drivers around in the early-mid 90s (Deletraz and Lavaggi for example).

Despite all of the moaning about drivers having to fund teams, even the worst pay drivers are of a better standard now than they have been in the past.

He sat out Australia with a back injury, but it was too late to put a reserve driver in anyway (he completed qualifying and then pulled out of the race). He was then declared fit to race at the following GP in Malaysia.

Williams did confirm that if he wasn't fit that Susie Wolff would not get the drive in Malaysia, which she then sited as one of the reasons she decided to retire.

At the Race of Champions they did a massive fairwell thing for her as it was her last race, and it was incredibly cringe. Even Susie looked really uncomfortable with the whole thing.
