So am I the only one loving the Chrome Mclaren run with right now? Hands down best livery on the current cars.

I was thinking this. Part of me would love to see the Marlboro livery, as it was iconic, but then I'd also miss the chrome look.

If anything, losing Vodaphone could make the current livery even better.

2006 style?

Ferrari were using a barcode motif back in 2010, which had nothing whatsoever to do Marlboro. That's why it also featured on the Marlboro sponsored Ducati MotoGP bikes...

It disappeared when it was suggested it might be subliminal advertising.

The difference was that Marlboro actually sponsor Ferrari, while the 'subliminal advertising' claims against Lotus Renault for running JPS colours were rubbish because JPS don't sponsor them.

Add to the small detail that until recently they were always called Malboro ferrari in some way and got away with it...

Didn't they change the tobacco advertising rules because of Ferrari? now meaning that you cannot have anything that resembles a tobacco company displayed on anywhere within the team or cars...

I never stated otherwise. Marlboro still had team naming rights, but couldn't show a logo. I only think it stopped this year.

Wasn't a dig, sorry. Just saying that the subliminal claims could be justified in the Marlboro case, but not for the JPS.

Ferrari no longer have Marlboro in the team name as of the start of this year. I dunno if that's because of a rule change or because Marlboro no longer sponsor them though?

I'm under the impression that they still "ïnvest" into Ferrari...;)

what happens if "malboro" start making another product under the same brand using the same logo and same colours ? could they now sponsor ferrari ?
