Listening to Craig Slater Sky Sports F1 there - apparently its been confirmed that Spa will stay on the calendar next year but agreement needed on a 1 or 2 year deal.
Also he was saying that its believed that Red Bull are possibly having thoughts about staying with Honda and not going into the Porsche partnership.... still expected to become part of the Porsche venture but interesting.
Funny for a team that struggled to have 1 engine supplier a few years back!

Imagine a world where it is a struggle to have Spa on he F1 calendar. F1 lolz

The joys of American ran anything. Forget the history, go for the money.

I absolutely love Spa. Sure the weather is all over the place, but it's a joy to watch cars go round it. A far better track than Monaco.

He's gonna have to take a big wage cut wherever offers him a drive I'd imagine. Hes failed at 2 teams in a row now so can't keep commanding drivers title contender money.

Might be better if he tries WEC or something tbh as he's just circling the F1 drain even if he does get another drive it'll just be at a worse team than he's at now for a couple of seasons till he Jacks it in altogether.

After seeing his Sky F1 interview (for the 1,000th time this weekend) I'm not convinced he really believes he'll be on the grid next year
I haven’t seen the interview but I can believe it. Maybe a year out would do him good.

Do we know what his payoff was yet?

I would like to see gasly in the alpine next year if not piastri.
After yet another dire performance by riccardo I definitely do not want him

A dire performance where his team assisted Lando by helping him undercut his teammate? (As otherwise Riccardo would likely have finished ahead of Lando as you would expect from their starting positions)

The maclarens were woeful at Spa regardless of who was driving them.

Craig Slater on Sky F1 mentioned at the weekend that there were some doubts within Red Bull about the Porsche deal, especially now that Honda seemingly want back in.
Seems there could be some truth to that with reports in the media today that the bosses (Horner, Marko and Newey) aren't keen on 50% of the operation being sold off to Porsche (even though the owner has ok'd it).

Almost feels like they would be better just getting back into bed with Honda and letting Porsche takeover somewhere else, that said Porsche entry plan has been entirely planned around Red Bull Powertrains developing the engine and it effectively being a naming rights deal.
So its not clear they would even enter if they had to do down the Audi route of developing their own engine.

Link for the above story.

I hope Mick can secure a seat for next year, I don't feel he's been given a fair shot in F1 yet and he's certainly a better driver than many who have stuck around.

I'd like to see him given a shot in a better car, I also don't feel Haas is exactly the best breeding ground for young drivers.
I hope the Alpine rumours bear some fruit, although filling in the gap at AlphaTauri should Gasly move to Alpine might also be a decent option, there's not much else left, Helmut Marko has suggested he's been keeping an eye on him though.

Wonder if a Piastri decision is coming this weekend. Read an article that states the Crb have to rule in 3 days of a hearing, which would have been yesterday at the latest ?

Looks more and more likely gasly will go to alpine.

I expect alpine are hoping to win the contract war (seriously.. Why isn't this resolved!)
Get some money of mclaren and pay rbr for gasly with it.

I wouldn't want piastri. He will be bitter. And certainly don't want riccardo back after his recent form.

I'd be happy with gasly. Although feel slightly dirty supporting an all French team!

F1 journalism twitter says that it is resolved but the outcome is only announced by the teams, there's speculation that it will be announced at a 2.45pm (CET, I think?) press conference called by McLaren.

He and Ocon don't get on, do they? That'll be an interesting pairing.

Just what I was thinking. I really was expecting that to stop it happening, but there you go. Doesn't look like Alpine are factoring Doohan into their future plans either.
