Motorsport Off Topic Thread

Why would a public facing company not do full due diligence to avoid any issues down the line?

There could be zero evidence or there could be a ton of evidence. One thing is for sure, nobody on this forum knows the answer.
I'm sure every team has protocols to adhere to in the event of this kind of situation and these would be run through governing bodies and lawyers

I wouldn't get too worked up with the whole barrister situation either.
People are taking what they know of UK employment situations and trying to apply that experience to a company that is grounded in Austrian law and Austrian practices.

My employment contract here is 45 pages long.
My rental contract for my apartment is over 60 sides of A4.

Austria isn't England, I expect the situation will be handled quite differently to how it would be back home

Do you guys have nothing better to do? The hearing is tomorrow, just wait till we have more information.
I kinda wish there was a ban on media reporting on allegations until after the internal investigations are finished or unless one side decides to go public and make a statement earlier.
It's quite the news story for the sport. It's pretty normal for people to discuss a story like that. You are on a discussion forum after all....
Additionally, how would you ban the media reporting an investigation by a private company?
It's not a legal hearing at this stage.

Ugh, thats all I've got to say about this news. I mean it's great Silverstone has been extended, but a 4th US race? No thanks.
That’s already been chucked out.

So it seems F1 is going to do a fourth race in the US on the streets of Chicago. They applied for the 'Chicago Grand Prix' trademark last week.

That was the original plan but they opted for the NASCAR race instead after learning about the cost and needing to sign up for 10 years. It isn't happening.

Discuss sure, coming up with crazy CTs without knowing any details imo is not a discussion.

Obviously it would have to be some sort of legislation to stop media reporting until a public statement from either of the two parties or the company. Till then it should stay internal matter.

RB cannot release any details and are held to laws that prevent them from doing so, quite rightly so to protect both the accuser and the accused.
But yes some absurd and crazy speculations, plus wild accusations based upon subjective personal judgemental opinions is not a discussion. It is just a witch hunt..

Anything that isn't fact, so 99% of what people are discussing.

There was an accusation and the company is doing their due diligence in investigating it, or so one would hope.
I wouldn’t class anything crazy or absurd in anything discussed on here  Maybe dick pics is at a stretch, the rest is simply playing out possible scenarios, which is what a discussion forum is for.

Exactly. And the **** pics idea came from a newspaper anyway so it’s not like someone here made that up. It’s just the usual RB victim mentality, their fans seem to follow suit with that attitude. Heaven forbid if he actually goes, they’ll start calling him a martyr for the sport or something..

Remember when Horner called their cost cap punishment “draconian”? Lols look how that turned out

That seems an unusual definition of "absurd and crazy speculations, plus wild accusations". Surely there's a huge area between substantiated fact and "absurd and crazy speculation"? Otherwise, you're saying it's completely unreasonable to discuss anything about which the facts aren't certain.

One does so hope.

This made me chuckle, it was from a red top thus it's plausible and true?
Just the usual I have a personal vendetta against anything RB mentality common to those who have nothing better to do in their sad little lives aside from bitch about someone who has a very successful life. Horner has a opinion, oh no run away he's everywhere
Heaven forbid they could be accused of something similar, oh but being a bully with an opinion is not so far off is it?

Nobody ever said it was true. You said above "wild accusations" by posters here, please do quote some of these as nobody else has seen evidence of them...

I find it bizarre you are so keen to defend Horner when you yourself don't know what he's allegedly done.

Neither do you, but you are the one wiping your opinion of him all over this thread.
It is fair enough to have an opinion but really yours has become like a broken record and same old, some old.
I'm not defending Horner from anything either, other from those who have a personal axe to grind with their judgemental statements.
Clearly your colours are firmly nailed to the mast, disturbing as they are, and what seems to be an obsession...
