Newry won't have any involvement in Aston's '25 car. He's not joining until March 1st next year, and he'll be focused on their '26 design.

Officially...;)
I don’t think Newey would waste much time or energy on the ‘25 car anyway. And Horner and co probably have their lawyers right at number one speed dial so it’d not be worth the risk..

On paper it does look like it should be a great season. Perhaps consistency will be key, which if the Ferrari is ok could suit Hamilton above everyone else /optimism :p

Red Bull were here in Ireland in November with 2 F1 cars for a show run. They released this with bits filmed in Connemara that I thought it was quite well put together (biased opinion considering I think Connemara is stunning)

I've been following Lawson since he was 14, he's a great driver and will only get better over time.
Sadly Horner has made it very clear that he is to support Verstappen, so he's very much a number two driver for 2025 at least.
I'll be very disappointed if Lawson doesn't close up on Verstappen as the 2025 season progresses.
That said, Verstappen is one of those rare drivers who is able to get the best out of everything he drives which makes it so difficult to beat him consistently.
I'm really looking forward to 2025, it should be an awesome season.

Lando needs to hope Santa brought him a set of cojones for Christmas cos when push comes to shove I didn't see enough of them last season.

It was basically a free hit in 2024 cos no one really expected him to win the title so expectations were low. 2025 he's going to be the favourite so farting around losing 3 places off the grid in half the races and letting Max bully him off the track all the time ain't gonna cut it.

Piastri is going to become more and more of a headache for him as well.

That's something Norris needs to work on for 2025, his starts from pole were pretty dire in 2024.

To be fair to Norris, the McLaren seemed to struggle off the line compared to the rest for much of the season. He could have done better, but it wasn't entirely his fault.

I remember Andreas Stella saying somewhere that the team would work with Norris to improve his starts, he appeared to think it was Norris rather than the car was at fault.
While I do like Norris I think he lacks the spare capacity and ruthlessness that makes an F1 Champion, that said I'm happy to be proved wrong on this occasion.

Did no one else find his formation lap approach really odd too?

Maybe we’ve been watching Lewis and Max for too long with how they ensure they don’t blast it round and then sit waiting for ages but every time I saw a Lando formation lap, he was in his grid box about 15 minutes before the last car formed up.

his formation laps were better than Stroll's at Brazil tbf

Certainly, right now , he's missing something. I don't know whether he'll find that bit extra with a bit of experience but I think his window is narrow. There are too many other good drivers around right now.

I also don't think anyone could have won against Max with the machinery available to both Lando and Max this season, although a few might have run it closer.

Yeah I kinda agree, McLaren surprised themselves after the poor start to the season, they developed well, I'm quite convinced they weren't expecting to be in either title fight, and by the time they were it was quite late in the season, it was only really a mathematical possibility for lando, but required both McLaren and Norris to not make any mistakes and capitalise on red bull short comings/decisions against them, which was a huge ask for a team that wasn't prepared for it.

McLaren was only in the position to win wcc due to Perez being ruddy awful after the first 6 races (really don't understand what happened here, almost feels like his car was sabotaged after verstappen father started crying about Perez having a few successful races at the start better than max, Perez can't have just conveniently lost his talent overnight surely? ) and Ferrari fell asleep part way through the season prior to bouncing back.

That said I am super chuffed for McLaren, I've been an avid McLaren fan since I was 11 years old (now 39) I continued to support them through the "gp2 engine" days.

Hopefully they can continue their form from the start of next season, unlike the past couple of seasons where they start poorly then develop well through the season.

I'm also a Hamilton fan (when he's not being a whining baby), so I'm wishing him best of luck at Ferrari also.

Feel bad for tsunoda, he's had a good solid season these past 2 seasons, think he should have had an opportunity with red bull, Lawson still has a lot to learn and from what he showed so far I can't help but feel he needs time to develop, he's certainly not a max or lando, I don't think he's shown wdc promise.

Lance stroll needs to go, his seat would surely be better given to someone else.

Was it this season that Perez put out the Tweet that he wanted to be World Champion but was then forced to delete it and replace it with something like 'wanted to win Grand Prix's'? It was last season after the Saudi GP: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/11vwzb5/checo_quickly_deletes_tweet_stating_quiero_ser/
