Mountain Biking

I am a heavy rider, probably about 95kg with kit. Not sure if that's heavy or not, or what is regarded as heavy really. I prefer the set and forget in reality, I don't think I am quite intune with a bike to be able to sort it out to an absoulte sadly.

The RT3 seems like the one to go for then! Can't get it intime before going now anyway, I shall give it a few months I think.

Also those photos are awesome, the yellow looks fantastic!

100% RT3, unless you want to go CCDBCS (i.e: not inline). Think you'll be on the "too heavy for inline" camp. On my Spitfire, at 80 - 83ish KG, I was borderline.

Bikes can be had so cheap these days rhys, it's a buyer's market. With all thes ebrilliant bikes that can be had for cheap, it's hard to sell a bike that was expensive just a couple years ago.

I ended up selling the Spitty for 850, after initially also wanting 1k.

Did I miss something - when did you screw yourself again?

It's the same injury, that one I dislocated back in FoD ages ago, then re-did in FoD in November last year (the day you did your collarbone I think). Somehow the second time it's been really properly jiggered, I foolishly tried to play squash back in Feb and it came out just from hitting a backhand shot. At which point it seems to be really mangled, so last time I rode the MTB in Surrey Hills I popped it out twice just going through simple little compressions - didn't even fall off either time. And that finally sent me back to the doc (after completing the full day's riding of course, I'm not some kind of wuss. But I really better sort this out as it's not fun riding slow).

Anyway the physio reckons I have some hypermobility causing all of this which might need surgery but meanwhile has found a particular direction that this shoulder's really weak in. It's not somewhere my shoulder would naturally go at all so it's awkward to work on but obviously seems to be a key part of holding it together when the bike's pushing me up and back!

Cheers Supercow, RT3 it is. Currently out of stock, but it's a contender for the next bike without a doubt.

I doubt I'd be able to sell the Zero before I leave, otherwise I'd just do that and go crazy on a full build. Looking about, I doubt I'd even get £1000 for mine! Which I'd want £1200 before selling would make sense. I think buying a frame is the sensible option now...

Had a great day uplift, the high roller 2 I put on the back sorted my grip problems completely. Really enjoying the meta and my pike fork and monarch plus shock are feeling dialed.

On the last run of the day my sram x11 gear shifter fell off my bar, went between my front wheel spokes and exploded pfft! :p

Same thing happened to me, my shifter came off the matchmaker clamp and flopped straight down to the front wheel as the T25 bolt hadnt been tightened properly. Luckily the shifter bonced off my fork leg and i hit the anchors quick time, could have been nasty otb or destruction otherwise.

Think my reverb dropper needs a service, its starting to stick a bit... Would a bike shop be able to sort it or does it need sending to manufacturer?

check the PSI is at 250 first, if its still trouble for you then maybe get a bleed kit for the remote.

The service from TF Tuned is £85 then you got your courier there and back so your looking at £100+

You can get a service kit for around £40 but that doesnt include oil

Was anyone around surrey hills today?

I saw an armada of bikes out there. Lots of capras and santa cruz

Was probably Supercow's group :P I think there were 16 of us in total.

Was a really good ride! I have no idea how some of the guys know/remember where the trails are. Apologies again for getting lost 'Cow, and thanks for the invite :) Would definitely do it in the future.

Practice and repetition :)

Gutted to be missing out at the moment.

I'd love to, desperate to go to BPW sadly no days left for the uplift before I leave. Also very rarely off on the weekends :/

Have emailed Bird to see if they'll deliver to Cyprus, if not I think I'll order one if they have any in stock! Just to decide on CCDB or RT3 depending on the answer.

Anyone want a cheap Zero frame? ;)

Yep, seen that. I'm pretty sure it was £250 and he is willing to add the Reverb for a further price.

I'd be looking about £4-500 for frame and fork...

Only one I can find on ebay is a AM (the £1800 version) that sold for a £1000! :/ Making mine worth £7-800 fully built. I'd rather just keep it at that price.
