Mountain Biking

Good excuse to replace the rim and run tubleless! I couldn't go back to the faff of changing tyres!

Forgot I had this photo. Taken the other week at roughly 2500ft, at Torridon. Mostly a waste of time as the snow was at points 3-4ft deep. I hit one snow patch that looked rollable and flipped the bike landing on my face in a pile of snow :/ Once it eventually cleared it was awesome though. Rocky steep, technical, fast. Incredible.

It doesn't need replacing as I have a tubeless wheel replace it with I just can't find my damn Hope hub kit to do it :(

Plus I have a spare pair of 26" wheels (Superstar) here that are brand new... Bought them in error thinking they were tubeless :(

I cannot wait to pass my driving test to come to Wales and ride, there's no where reslly I can ride without travelling. Surrey hills are the best place and that's still a pain! And I can't even post a picture of my bike, I don't take pictures of them until they break :(

I live in Leicester, the closest even remotely decent ride for me is cannock and thats 60+ miles away so at least £30 fuel there n back :(. Bike park wales is a good 3 hour drive, can do forest of dean in 2 1/2 hour. Sucks proper when i see cow posting he been out 200 times to the coolest places in a week n i get to ride cruddy cannock once maybe twice a month

Know them feels living in the south west. Loads of xc riding, but no proper descents. Feels like your driving forever for mediocre trails.

Moving from the Highlands is my biggest regret ever. Can't wait to eventually move back. Riding everywhere, and Hills, proper Hills!

Which SS wheels do you have Rhys?
Most of them are tubeless ready

AMX rims on Switch Ultra hubs. They're not tubeless (conventially), and I'd rather not porch around with an inner tube. After ordering I didn't realise they weren't tubeless and SS won't take them back. I do have 2 inner tubes from yesterday I could maybe try. (It was during the sales so it was a little impulse buy - should have waited for the Tech4 wheel set a few days later!!)

SS will rebuild them onto other rims for me for £30 a rim though under their Crash Replacement scheme. This I may do when I get a new frame.

This is probably a daft question but I'll ask it anyway.

Some of the bolts on my Cube Acid are looking a little shabby, the 4x stem bolts in particular. I see loads of stem bolts on fleabay for sale but are they generally one particular size on most bikes? Not sure what size to get?

M = metric
the number is the thread diameter. :)

Edit: yes sorry measure the lenght of the bolt and thread diameter.

Get down to a local hardware store, they should have plenty of stock.

My body just refused this weekend, and said “nope”. Couldn’t drag myself out of the house at all as I just didn’t have any energy!

Kinda regret it a little bit now, gagging to ride now that I’m at work :p

Don't you work in a bike shop Cow?

Still feeling the effects of my OTB at Cwmcarn on Saturday.
Sore elbow and thigh. New tyre needed for the back too.

Nope, just used to own one / part run one for pocket monies / get stuff cheap.

As with a large part of the OcUK demographic, I work in software development :(
