I've seen way too many people crash with lollers, who should be able to handle their bike - I'm staying well clear of them!

My recommendation would be Continental Mountain King 2.4, used them at BPW and had no problems there... or anywhere else for that matter! Love them.

Are they like a scwalbe 2.4 and not a silly small maxxis 2.4?

Ok so I have found a used Specialized rockhopper 2010 model which I can buy in my budget. Would I be better with this rather than the new btwin above? It seems pretty high spec with XT gears and stuff.

What are you lot on about. High rollers don't roll for ****, but they have near endless grip. They slide at bpw, because at bpw the loose stones move.

They roll a damn site faster than my nobby nic/fat alberto combo. Also a friend went from hans dampf to lollers and prefers the lollers for rolling. Dunno if its placebo or what ever but the lollers roll.

All say there fast rolling tyres. You been riding em with no air in cow?

I disagree with this statement, HR2's are pretty scary at this time of year, clear mud pretty well with the open tread design, but severly lack in bite into softer stuff, great on hard pack and dry conditions, but for the last 3 months i've had nothing but scary situations with mine.

I've been meaning to buy some new tyres but more important purchases keep popping up. I've given up wanting fast rolling tyre, i'll take grip please and buckets of it.
It's gonna have to be next month for me though, off to Italy Skiing next week, its gonna be messy and expensive! I feel sorry for anyone in the area when we rock up!

I got a new HR2 on my bike and hit the local man made trails and had no issues.. and they were damn muddy! Depends on the type of mud though, if its greasy mud no tyre is going to get good levels of grip

I liked the HR2'S when i had them, i have minions now, riding in wet sloppy mud recently and theres pretty much no grip, just sliding out.. wonder if there is a tyre that would grip in those kind of condiitons though? everything else and the minions have been ace for me.

I know. I've spoke to them and the lady said they have had it 5 years, but it has only been used to put a child seat on the back for their kids.
The advert says they have chaged to full suspension. So cant help feel it has been smashed down the trails for the last 5 years and could be knackered.

back to the drawing board...

Anyone with a troy lee a1 helmet here, and use a gorpo, how do you have it mounted? should i use one of the flat sticky things and stick it just below the ridge at the top? or do they need to be more at top/center of helmet?

Do they go through a whole process of setting up suspension and stuff? Sure I read on pinkbike they do something along those lines?

I read they look after ya proper, sort ya suspension settings n sizing to make sure its all good in the hood. Did they help ya out with all that?

I didnt buy a full bike just frame only. I already had a set of new fox 36's. I went there yesterday and tried sizings too see what size i liked. chatted about my riding style and what type of tracks I like to ride. Decided on the X2 shock which they custom valve. I took my forks along which they stripped, serviced and custom tuned for the frame, which they done for free. Once I built it up I get to take it back and they will set it up for me! Also I get a free frame check over, bearing replacement and shock service within the first 2 years. not bad service if I say so myself
