With this card overclocked I got a time spy graphics score of 18213 which is quite a bit higher than the founders which has a higher power limit.

That's good. I can imagine the lower power limit can help somewhat. Less heat, less temps, more stable boost? Looking forward to playing around with this card, anyway. Have 3 case fans on the floor of my Lian Li O11 Air case blowing straight up to the card when I get it.

compared to wat tho?
its a bit of a dud when even the FE performs better than it :D
but yea a 3080 is a 3080 atm so anyone is lucky to have one, I'd take a Ventus if they were still £650 :3

The sample size of cards out there isn’t enough to really know what’s what.

Considering the way the review embargo was set up, chances are NV sent the best FE chips to reviewers. Asus may very well have done the same. Just because there are a small sample of cards not quite matching FE, and a small sample of cards exceeding it, could just mean the FE is just a middling card this time (rather than it being the low point all other cards must beat).

My Ventus came yesterday, I had a quick fiddle and it seemed to beat the FE straight out of the box. No crashes, low temps. Seems to like to Max boost to 1950 pretty much whatever I do. Default fan curve was a bit meh for me, it needed to be a bit more aggressive, so that took 5 seconds to fix, however some people might prefer the quieter curve.

I sense people are over reacting to meaningless anecdotal data.

Regarding undervolting: When I unlock voltage, Afterburner then allows me to increase volts, but not decrease it. Am I doing something wrong here?

you don’t need to unlock it (or at least I didn’t)

here’s what I’ve done on mine which has dropped power consumption by about 40w and had no performance impact on the games I’ve tested.

open afterburner

press ctrl and f

on the graph that loads up, hold shift and click the far right dot. Drag it down until the highest point (the one you’ve clicked on) lines up around the 1750-1800mhz mark

then, stop holding shift and click on the dot around the 0.8 area on the bottom axis

drag that up to around the 1800/1850 mark on the graph

on the main afterburner window, not the graph, click the tick in the middle bottom area

the graph will now change to a straight line from that 0.8 area onwards.

hit save and save the profile

all done

I also have my memory boosted by about 500

Ok I received this and been playing around with it. Managed to get 18250 timespy graphics score with +85/+1000 overclocks. Up from about 17400 on stock. Currently configuring my long term mild OC profile. Got it at +0/+500 and according to gpu-z 'fan 1' was running 2000rpm, 'fan 2' was running 1800 rpm on default fan curve. There was no 3rd fan sensor. Temp at 74 degrees and the clock seems to be sitting at just above 1800-1850mhz consistently. Passed with 98.4% stability and my pc stayed relatively quiet. Think this will do me. I play at 4k and this thing rips through anything I've put in front of it.

Finally I decided to sell my card. I will wait for more reviews and still going on with my RTX2060 until everything is more clear. Also going to wait for those 3080 with 20GB.

Exactly!

why sell it if you haven't even received or tried it yet? I mean if you don't want it then just cancel the order and let someone who does have a chance unless of course you plan to sell for more than you paid for it in which case many here in the long queue would take a dim view of.

Did this but to 1845mhz at 0.875v. The GPU sits constant 1845mhz now, never hits the power limit (usually 20-40w lower) and is 98.9% stable on the time spy extreme stress test while getting the same time spy graphics score. Good advice thanks.

I left it +500 on the memory, I know mine can go up to +1000 from doing some overclocks yesterday. Fans don't go over 1800rpm so nice and quieter too.

The cards have ECC memory so you can push high but it will actually reduce performance as it corrects errors rather than crashing.

I had mine at 875 for a while but still seemed to be using almost 100% power and still hit power limits in gpu-z

I figured this was the case. I think the sweeter spot for me was +925-950. My time spy graphics score decreased as I was testing in the region of +1000.

Was just about to post about the ECC mem, beat me to it :D Need to be testing the memory clocks while under load to see the exact effect tbh

Ordered mine from the "Paper to Digital" place begining with "S".

Got confirmation email at - 14:13
Order tracking site says - Order Received - 15:40
Payment Authorised - 16:47
Payed - £649

Technically by their update Im within the 6 week allocation as I have paid £649. Who knows where I am in the queue based on this or when it may arrive.

For the time being sticking with the order.

I'm definitely curious to see any news on your order.

I ordered mine from the same place on 17th for the same price.
Confirmation email at 14:14.

When I spoke with CS they told me as an estimate that I'd be looking at 'October/November'.

I bought from the same place.

Order tracking, order received 15:16

I called and was told I am on back order, not pre order. So I'm not in a queue but as soon as stock comes in I get one. But when is that lol.

I received mine today from different Place.

Been running benchmarks and gaming all afternoon. Temp will not go over 72 when using default fan curve(even stressing for a couple of minutes). Nothing crashed until now.
Noticed boots to 1950/1980 and few times 2010.

However I changed the fan curve as I do not mind about noise(headphones), and temps were like 7-10c less. SO far, so good. Didn't change anything, voltage, memory frequency, etc. OC is definitely not needed.

Idle temps about 30-35c.
