MSI GTX780 Lightning due 07/08/13

Again, I swore to neliz I wouldn't reveal any of what he told me yesterday :)

Not as long as I first thought is about as much as I can say, official dimensions are only a few days away anyhow.

You got a monsta in the front or something??

Now you didn't really need to tell us that...did you ? :D

Card is no more than 1" longer, see pics and use Pciex slot as reference ;)

If that's the case it's goona be close, but should be alright:D

Mate, I just used my mk1 eyeball from a distance, if you used a bit of paper and a rule you could get +- 1mm, it's not really longer than any of the other custom cards at a quick glance.

Bet it will be £600+ though !

If it's £600+ I'll skip it then and look what AMD have to offer.

I don't think it will breach the £600 mark, usually £50-70 more then reference, which given ref and gaming edition msi 780's can be had for £500, that puts it around the £575 mark imo.

Remember ocuk have a great relationship with msi, today only price drops on the previous lightnings were as much as £80!! So don't be too disheartened if the initial retail price comes up high, no doubt gibbo will make way to have some big price drop specials :D

Then I'll wait for price drop.

Think that's a given, It won't be less than a classified.

One look at this card and it's pretty obvious it not for gaming, it's for high end benchmarking !! If you want it to game even MSI have better options in the 780 range ;)

I just talked to one of the MSI reps and he told me that the 780 lightning is one of the best air 780's for gaming. Great for benching under water.

True, but MSI isn't going to make a really expensive card just for benching. They want gamers to buy just as much

:D Obviously you can game on it, but basically it built ground up for benching, nothing to stop you buying it and running it as a day to day card at all, fill your boots :)
Nobody is right of wrong for buying anything and using it how the want if it makes them happy IMHO.

Ah you may be right, I was counting each side of the contact plate, a closer look it seems like 7 pipe pass through

Actually, I take some of that back, if you zoom the image those heatpipes are actually very substantial, the original image make them look tiny... optical illusion :D
