MSI Wind

Lots have happened since the last post in here! So OCUK any idea when these are coming in!

The 6 cell battery appears to have been delayed to August ish which may be to long to wait for me. We shall see what comes along as an accessory.

The wind is due out today. Other shops appear to be instantly sold out or overpricing the wind. Also as with other msi's there are clones on the way which may be a sneaky way to have a better choice of colours and styles!

I have just about made the decision to buy a "net book" However I favor the HD rather than the SSD because of the larger size! I've had no issue with my original 2G ipod still going strong so I think a HD is reliable enough. I intend to use mine mainly for showing off my photos which currently sit at home on my pc and do not get printed! The storage space and slightly bigger screen are what makes the wind my choice!
 
I am not sure the MSI Wind makes sense at its current price. You hat get a Dell Vostro 13.3" with thhe following specs:

For £375.....Sure its a little bit bigger, but its also a fully functional laptop.

just got hold of the advent branded one... 279 and very very nice indeed. I have not used a new asus 900 with xp, but compared to 700 this is far far better i am over the moon with it.

A big thumbs up everyone!

How much did you pay for it mate and when did you order? First person Ive heard of to get one in the UK - pics/review when you are ready :D

I wouldnt say 33% is only a bit bigger - though we are moving away from the initial 7" - the spec for that Vostro is very good and food for thought really...

I paid £350 for it ..and got it from e****r

Very nice little machine....Much better than the mininote i previously had

Not had chance to have a proper play yet...but so far so good ....Its handles everything ive thrown at it.

Im tempted to install Leopard on there.......After seeing a few youtube vids..it seems to handle it very well.
 
got to say it looks better in white and with MSI splash screen rather than advent and grey with black keys
 
if i could have got an msi wind and at same price at advent i would have. Its a small issue to pick with it :)

Its a 3 cell battery, i've only got it this morning and not used without a power supply yet
