I also picked up an advent version today. So far I'm very happy, its small but still useable!

Can't comment on the tinny speakers, I don't plan on using it as an ipod or movie player really.

I think I'd of prefered a white one but for the less money and the fact its in my hands now I'm not complaining.

is it me or this battery get charged really slow? I emptied the battery around 7.30pm today and its been off and being charged since but I just checked and the battery is only at 73% :S

update: its fully charged now, took about 3 hours

just to add the speakers are garbage. Not even worth hearing windows alerts thru.. pure crap totally muffled
 
Looks like I need to start looking into these as an eventual buy - probably gonna get the Wind though as it will match my iPhone3G :p

Theres so many out there that I dont know whats what and whats worth getting so keep posting guys :)

When the 6 cell batteries are released, we should be able to just swap the 3 cell for the 6 cell right? It won't matter whether the laptop is 'Advent' or not will it?

I'm going to pick one of these up as soon as I find them in stock somewhere :)

yeah you should be able to swap out the battery since the advent is just exactly the same but with an advent logo and bios, my bro just brought one the other day and he has put the msi bios on so it's just like the msi wind now.

(p.s just using the advent atm and it's pretty nice no probs and runs smoothly for internet browsing)
 
The updated bios fixes a few issues with the wind.....

1.set CPU at max speed for DOS low Ghost performance issue
2.change clkgen and Rtl 8102E patch code for S3 resuming issue
3.Fix battery name to MS-N011
4.EC SMI process code modification
5.fix issue, sometimes in BBS popup menu keyboard cannot work
6.Fix play media player at DC mode issue.
7.fix press more 2 second then system will shutdown at MSI Logo issue
8.Support SEC 512/Hynix 512/Mira1G 512MB BOM
9.Fix USB devices detect issue.
(When exit without saving from setup, USB devices can't detect.)
10.Update EC file.(Ver.120 2008/06/26)
EC_Note:
1. Fix Battery Critical Shutdown problem.
2. Add Keyboard & PS2 Reset Function.
3. Add Patch Code about Battery Low Discharge problem
 
I dont have the mininote anymore....I sold it and now have the wind.


The bios for the wind will work on the advent....it fixes a few issues with the wind which are also present on the advent.

Advent are going to be releasing the updated 1.5 bios but its not avaialble yet.
