Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Cool. I was struggling a bit with getting the right figures together for flight time calculations. But did buy a battery alarm and a telemetry module for the DX8 which will give me voltage (and i can set an alarm).

Had a bad crash this evening.

I put it up around 200ft and on the way down around 50-80ft just lost signal or something and dropped to the floor then once on the floor the telemetry screen warned me with a single beep lol.

About a minute before this It was about three times the distance away from me at the same altitude with no issues or warnings.

Won't cost much to repair but does make you loose faith in it a little.

Such a shame HK don't do a cheap postage option. There's no point in buying anything small and cheap.

What is it you are after?

This is why multirotors aren't ready for public consumption :D Imagine if 4 times as many people were piloting off the shelf multis (which also have senior moments) all over the place, over people and property...

Bought a lot of misc places from Ebay, there are a lot of UK RC shops on there, works out nicely :)
Just watched the video I recorded yesterday, got the Mobius picture quality improved and with it being a less gusty day I've realised that there is a lot less vibration than I was expecting - picture quality is really quite decent considering I've not spent any time prop balancing and damping the camera.

Just need to tone down the contrast a little as some of the freshly mowed grass in the sun was a little over exposed, think the camera was just struggling with the contrast from flying next to all the shadow from nearby trees.

opstrat - what motors/props you got at the moment. That's a big size different which will likely mean new motors? Whilst if you're around 8-9" props you could drop down to a 12" and not have to replace other components I'd have thought.

Bored now. I have everything except for my HK China order, which is motors, ESC and FCB, meaning I can't even start putting together what I have! Its all just sat in a pile at home taunting me :(

Can definitely fit a Mobius on a 250, pretty sure I've seen people fly them with GoPros too.
250s appeal to me due to the lower inertia, less likely to break I reckon!

Anyone know roughly how long hobbyking euro take to deliver? Just about out of spare props and the UK store are completely lacking 8045 props :(
Going to end up having to just buy a whole new set of components at a smaller scale at this rate  lol

Yeah. A lot of the carbon ones even come with damped mounting plates for small camera like the 808 keyring jobs. That's what I will be using on my 250.

I've just had a real bad experience with hk Euro warehouse. 10 days from printing the order and it still hasn't been despatched. Tried to cancel, they took another 4 days with no response so I ended claiming the money back from PayPal.

In other news..... I have about 30x 8045 props here. They're only the hk ones. Black or green. Send me your address in trust and I'll pop a few sets in the post for you!

Long story, but I bought a shed load for my 330 and then stopped breaking them every time I flew lol.

Re: Euro warehouse... that sucks. :(
Re: Spare props... Awesome! Will pop you a mail in trust in a moment. Oddly it's the props that go on the right hand side of my quads that always seem to get broken. Green normal rotation, black reverse rotation! Completely out of spares there but have around 4 spare of the opposites each!

Yeah, was pretty sucky. Ordered the same stuff from the UK warehouse as it had come back in stock and it was here in 48 hours. Bloody idiots. I wouldn't have minded but it was when they said it would take 48 hours to cancel my order and the 4 days later they were still playing for time!

I'll try and get in the post tomoz but can't promise. Definitely Monday though, if not :)

Finally the package has arrived in the UK should get it in the Mail tomorow... still haven't told the missus yet about the purchase so I am ******** bricks lol

I thought I checked when ordering from Hobby King that everything was in the UK or European warehouse, sadly the Boscam gear was not so everything got sent from Malaysia so its been nearly three weeks since ordering.

Half expected disapointment... royal mail do blow... Tracking says the package has been sitting at Heathrow since early Thursday morning... :(

Could it be getting held at customs?
When ordering things from Hobbyking UK for example you need to choose the version of the product that literally says "UK Warehouse" in the subject, otherwise it'll be the international version. You can't mix things from various warehouse into a single order either.
