Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Either fighter jet pilot reactions & eyesight, muscle memory flying similar patterns or very good visualisation techniques (knowing what the quad is doing even though you can't see it!)

Maybe magic.

I'm very jealous.

Yep, that boggles the mind how someone can fly like that! And I thought the one on page one of this thread from a few years ago was bonkers!

The FrSky Taranis FPV monitor mount

Nice solid fix, came with the screen fixing bolt.

H3-3D Travel Bracket

They call it for the Phantom but it's not. Really really smart idea. Good way to protect a £250+ investment.

Thanks Lisapete. Ordered.

Today I finally got around to building my Thorax mini hex. It's all together but I'm not happy with the motors. Using the RCX 1804s and they just feel really badly made. Teeny gauge wires too. I think I'll bag some DYS 1806s for it instead. I've got some Tunigy 1704s here but at 1900kv I think they are probably too slow.

Seen that 6S 250 before. 22.2v with 2000kv motors is 44,400 RPM. Fully charged he can run at 50,400 RPM. Utterly insane.

What gauge wire are they? The 1806's are only 22awg. Or did you mean the actual windings?

Here's my poor attempt, the negative wire on all of them were a pain! Most of the positives went on OK ish

:( afraid its just going to fail due to soldering issues

i wont lie, its not much better looking than mine.

the pics are not too clear but is the connections nice and shiny or dull looking?

there is stuff you can get to put on the connections to secure them and stop them from connecting with the other connections. cant remember the name though.

Need a better picture really, but from an initial look most of those look like cold solder joints and I wouldnt leave it like that.

What soldering iron did you use? Looks like you didnt get it hot enough.
