Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Just took the 450 out for a second full flight with the FPV, only got around 10 minutes on the battery, and a very unstable flight as its very windy.

I am not sure about my new landing skids, since putting it on the quad feels like its working a little too much and is on the higher end of the throttle to get a good response, almost as if it feels under powered, but I dont expect its that heavy, it doesnt have a mobius yet, so its just a standard set-up, with GPS, FPV, 4S 5000mah battery, skids, no gimbal (not intending to get a gimbal)

Or I might be paranoid.

I dont think the wind helped, heading in a direction with tailwind it was pretty quick, however coming back it to head wind I think it was too much.

Whats the possibility of performance on this thing with strapping two batteries on? or is this mainly for the 550.

Umm new toy

All 6 lipos done same time within an hour.

How much was that?

I need to try and faster way of charging, although I assume if you charge 2 lipos on a charger that charges at 5w, essentially your doubling your charging time, compared to if you were charging one

PSU £125 delivered
Charger £126.90
Para Board £10.99

Total £262.89

All about the Amps

So I can charge my 6x 4's 5000mAH @ 1c (5A per battery) all at the same time which is 30A (1c charge rate) within an hour.

This saves charge one, take off, put other on. This would be 6 hours. Same goes for storage.

I'm going to make a discharge unit as well but working out what to use, light bulbs or resistors.

hmm, bit to expensive for me :/

You can buy the parralel charging adaptors for mine, but I wasnt sure it was worth it seeing as mine only charges as 5amps, I would assume that would be for one battery, put two on it would half it.

Not spending £262 on a charger though :p

It's an investment. My T960 wants a 6S and I was able to get hold of some 6s 16000mAh so to charge that @1c is 16A!!!

My ImaxB6 does 5A that's it. I did the 6x 4's on it but took forever.

The PSU gives me 25v and 12v outputs so I can use it for a multitude of uses.

Serious charger you've got there. I have the iCharger 308 Duo and it's awesome. I run it from a couple of HP server PSUs I've wired together. I expect that's what's inside that PSU you have.

I might bag one of those PSUs actually. My setup is messy and at that price it's worth it.
I need some bigger batteries for my S900 as my parallel 2 x 6000mAh setup isn't cutting it any more.

I bought the last one, sorry. Drop them a mail they reply pretty quick!

The 3010B will do 10s so is the next option. I'm only ever going to go 6s.

Going take the flight board and camera off my ethos quad then fit them to my f550 hex just to get a few videos and pics off the f550 tonight

Got the day off tomorrow so going to have a fly for the 1st time in a month

Won't be fpv but ill at least get some videos to show just have to use 2 transmitters

Can't afford the fpv kit for a while so it have to do

Any one interested in the tricopter v3 from david windestål might like to know he is getting ready to release a pdb bottom plate and a integrated naze32 top plate for a super compact clean design. It looks to be a pretty nice upgrade to his tricopter indeed.
