Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Video from the second battery, made the mistake at the end of forgetting that I can pull back too far and also being blind.

I dont know, iv not had this 250 long, someone suggested gemfans.

I guess they cost a little less too, maybe will look at HQ, when I am breaking less props during sessions

Could the cheap diatone props im using now be causing this in flight vibration assuming the balance is rubbish on them? and the noise? As I said to others on here yesterday, iv been over my model, and nothing is loose

Only thing I can spot is one of the arms has a slight thickness increase on the others. Manufacturing thing by the looks

I would try different props first, like you say could be very unbalanced but you would probably notice that on the video. If it flies ok I wouldn't worry about it I always mute the videos they all sound terrible IMO.

Yeh guess your right, just see what happens with these new props.

I will probably chuck music over videos anyway once I start getting used to it more and have something worthy of putting up.

Just been playing with my Taranis. Needs some new voices as she's doing my head in

Let me know if you find any decent packs, was going to use one of the Microsoft lady voices, I want to check out what other microsoft voices you can download and then use OpenTX Speaker. But didnt do it this morning as it means faffing aroung with registry.

As much as I like Amber, I find it a little too soft and slow.

German 5030 = cheap, reasonable balance from packet, flexible and resilient
HQ carbon reinforced 5040 = reasonable balance from pack, shatter like glass if sneezed on
Diatone clear props (5030?) = rubbish balance, though really quite tough. Cheap and look good when illuminated at dusk, probably best for learning on

IMO of course. I roll with Gemfan pretty much all the time, usually odd colours too :p

Nice vide, dj if thoe two props that come apart mid flight have been dodgy for a while that very much may be the issue with vibration.

Ash great vids, if you drop your throttle a touch as you initiate a role or flip and return it to original position the manoeuvre will be a lot tighter, doesn't have to be much. Either way nice acro flying.

Just rendering my video, laptop is terrible and is taking 45 minutes to render a 3 minute video :/ I am really pleased with it though and am quite proud of it, the flying more so but I have chucked some music on and made an effort with the editing this time. Hopefully it will be done soon.

I run the gemfan 5040s with no complaints, I would go hq only if I wanted to run 6030's as gemfans are made of cheese and leave your multirotor any point in your flight they feel like it.

Thanks, those props were possibly on the last flight yesterday, but they would have broke becaus of a few crashes today, notice the video edits, are where I crashed, I left the last one in the video as it was dramatic :p

Thanks all, will see how the gemfans go then.

Anyone seen these align skids being used on the f450s before? I'm thinking as I don't really need massive ground clearance using a Möbius and an fpv camera, it might be a lighter option

As long as the screw in to the dji bottom plate somehow

Might be lighter than my hotfpv landing skids

Thanks, looking forward to flying again tomorrow. Yeah I was trying to drop the throttle while upside a little but will take some more practise.

I use the HQ plastic version still well balanced and don't shatter.

What's the cheapest way to get phoenix? I don't really want to spend £80 like I did a few years ago, I got rid of it when I got rid of my plane

Can I pick up one of the cheaper copies off the bay and upgrade? If it comes with cable etc

I'll upload a gameplay video of aerorc. I think it is great and has made a massive difference for me, it has helped me leapfrog any of the hurdals starting out and really make fast progress with any of the flying I have done.

Cool ta :)

Is it recommended? Iv only ever heard people talking about phoenix, I did like phoneix when I had a copy.

How realistic is it? Plenty of models?

it has its issues, some of the physics are off slightly for the quads but it isnt for pro's to get better its to help improve beginners and practice the basics that take time to master.

Just looking at the AeroRC software, it looks ok for learning the basics, may do it, although I dont see any racing 250s on there, there is a massive difference in the way the F450 or such like fly, and the 250's, unles there has been an update.

I still dont fancy spending £58 on software though

Can you get the cable or USB anywhere online? trying to find a place now but seems not, unless this is it >>>
