Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Rubbish. It's common sense to use Paypal and pay for goods/service giving you buyer protection. Same as it is here.

Am fedup of trying to sort the issues on that group due to the idiots not using the safest method going.

Must admit I'm pretty out of touch with paypal buyer/seller protection for non-ebay items. Looks like they revamped the rules but still would make me a bit nervous buying an item from an ad is social media.

But it's certainly not the same as here in the MM. We have the trust system for feedback on the buyer and seller, reliance on the user being known and active in the forums with the minimum requirements to enter the MM, there are clear rules that state exchange of phone numbers, contact with the buyer/seller, etc, etc.

At a guess "fly aways" and such are more than likely down to folk not setting up the multirotor right before they fly.
I've got a Naza lite flashed to V2 firmware. Had no problems with it so far. More worried about the flight controller on my Nighthawk 280 as its not as simple as the Naza, well to me it isnt.
Just make sure you calibrate the compass before flying and then leave it long enough to find satellite lock and home point lock. Thats what i do.

I have a Phantom 3 Pro and never had any issues with it. As above, most (not all) fly aways are from people not quite knowing what they are doing.

Hi - I have a cheap and cheerful FY-326 Q7 (Syma X5C clone) that cost about £16 and it's been great fun. I've had the odd bash now and again and it usually just shrugs it off and keeps going. However, after the last one the machine no longer goes straight up under full power. What happens is the machine tries to tilt forward and to the right, making it very unstable under full throttle. It's almost impossible to correct it using the stick. It's fine at anything other than full throttle.

All the props seem to be undamaged and they all seem to turn ok. There seem s to be no visible damage anywhere. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? Many thanks :)

It's most likely one of the motors on the way out. Brushed motors have a very definite (and often short) lifespan.

Fairly easy and quick to replace if you can find a spare though.

I bagged myself an X5 camera for the Inspire and the really rather lovely 12mm f/2 Olympus lens. Looking forward to giving this a workout soon. Also bagged the little 14-42mm PZ pancake zoom. It's going to be interesting having the ability to zoom while in the air.

Have you sold all your other DJI stuff now?

I haven't flown for months. Weather and work and family life have been severely out of alignment for a good while.

I have just bought myself my first foamie though. A z-84 wing wing. Should be entertaining as I have never flown a plane before.

Seriously though, how much harder than a quad can it be?

Ah okies - thanks for that. I've ordered a replacement set for four and a half quid. Hopefully that'll fix it :)

It depends how you flew your quad.

If you're used to flying in GPS mode a barometer and IOC, it will be very hard.
If you only used self level and no other aids, you will probably do okay.
If you flew in manual only mode (rate/acro), then it will be a piece of cake.

Mostly the last one. I did dabble with "aids" but got rid pretty quickly.

I'm just in the process of selling my kit.

Zenmuse Z15
DJI A2
iOSD MKII
Sony Nex 15 with 16mm lens
Multstar 6s 10,000 mah x12

1st March DJI show the new kit

I can get a Phantom 3 Pro now for £850 from Maplins (friends get me 10% off RRP) and I'm wanting something that I can just perhaps throw up quick
