re: chargers, the turnigy accucell 80w ones are fine for basic 2-4 cell lipo batteries.

Pointless wasting money on more fancy chargers for that size cells.

Cellpro Powerlabs By Revolectrix for when you want to go bigger :)

I might have to get some 6 bladed props if that's what they sound like.

Quadmovr is obviously a skilled pilot, but watching line of sight quad flying isn't all that interesting. I mean, he could be flying that thing backwards or sideways and you'd never know watching, it always looks like an X.

Dude should get himself a heli, though I have a feeling he's already been there, done that, which is how he got the skills. Same for Mr Steele. He's an ex-heli pilot too.

Love to do some flying here but probably get told off :p

And my GOD that's some awesome flying

Actually LOS is pretty good fun, I'm rebuilding a simple quad now just for LOS training, and it helps with FPV skills too. New build will have SunnySky motors, naze32 replacing a old KK, flashed afros to BLHeli and will run it on 4s. It's a cheap X frame, and It's going to be surrounded in LED strips (half blue half green) for orientation.

I've only recently come to FPV (flown a handful of times) and I love LOS.

Haven't been as brave with the new quad mind

I agree, it is fun to fly LoS. I just don't really care for watching it. Tricks are fairly limited with a normal quad (without reversing motors) and like I said, even if the pilot is capable of flying backwards or sideways, it still looks the same to those watching.

Friend has decided to go all in and will be ordering a Vortex Pro 250, Taranis and Attitude V3's today :o

Is there anything else he would need in addition to batteries and a charger?

Batteries, spare propellers. A receiver for the Vortex. I recommend the FrSky X4R-SB.

In other news I received my Taranis today :D

It was second hand but in great condition. Now where do I start? Anything I should know? I've not got a quad yet so looking for a decent sim to run.

download the amber sound set (if not already on the micro sd card
download the companion software
spend an hour getting the damn thing to connect via usb
update the firmware if needed
configure one of the pots for volume control
consider the speaker upgrade

Nice. Got one myself, still getting used to it really. Still at stock also.

Let me know if you flash it and what to etc, interested to see how easy it is, along with tuning PIDs.

In other news, managed my first rate mode roll with the ef250 yesterday :D Slow roll though, which is annoying.
