Awesome setup!... just remember to always do a compass calibration before flying your first battery when arriving at flying site. Then wait for sat lock / home position set before flying away from you. Top tips to avoid flyaways...

Yeah thanks for that was looking at some vids on youtube about it.
still waiting for my monitor battery. would i be able to use one from the quad.

Most of those monitors take 12v so a 3S lipo is fine. I used to power my ground station with a 3S lipo before I moved to a larger system.

HK KK2.0 v KK2.1

Is it worth getting the 2.1 over the 2.0? I'd have to get it from the US warehouse as it's not available in the UK but is it worth the wait?

Edit: just found it in the UK at RadioC but the 2 v 2.1 question still stands I suppose, is it that much better?

Accidentally took off in manual mode today. Oops! Quickly twigged that something wasn't right but fortunately no damage done. It goes like stink in manual...

The KK2.0 is no longer produced

Ordered!!! Even though its out of stock it still let me order it :)

Turns out CPC cancelled the order as they have no stock and nothing similar, so Im back to square one :(

Also, what insurance do people have on these? Im guessing you will need some incase it drops from the air onto a car or into a house etc.

The thing I love about the iOSD mini is that it's obvious whether your home point has been saved correctly!

I got a bit braver today, flew 500m away FPV. No worries and I landed fine several times in FPV.

Cyclone, a good rucksack may do. I take mine out in one when I don't want to be too conspicuous. The case is more for long term storage and transportation. A rucksack is good for the short trips nearby. :)

Only thing with something like that is you have to remove the props. I know its only a few seconds but I'd rather have something that takes it fully complete. That box you linked to above was ideal.

I took my Phantom into work and showed someone who was thinking about getting one. I soon had loads of people watching, and possibly made a few sales for DJI :)

The Phantom looks awesome in the dark :)

The case I have won't fit the P2 in with the props attached. I remove mine and reattach when I want to fly it.

If you want to store with props on, you want a slightly larger case as mine was designed for the P1.

I've decided to get hold of a Turnigy 9x TX from... somewhere.

The question is, do I ditch the Tx module and wire in a separate Tx and Rx pair or just buy a Turnigy 9x Rx and keep the stock Tx in the controller?

Are there better pairings out there?

Get the FrSky module it's by far the best module and protocol with a great range of cheap receivers.

The Taranis is somewhat more expensive is it not?

I'm happy to wait for the backorder and there's only a couple of other people waiting. I've not got ANY parts or components yet so I'm in no rush!
