Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

I think i might know what causing my yawing issue, as i increase the throttle 3 blade spin up with the forth to follow, also that one of the motor has a slight resistance when you turn it. Cant do anymore testing yet its just started to rain

Haven't read all your woes rishy but have you calibrated all the ESCs and your throttle range? I have one ESC in my parts bin that was just plain lazy, mind.

If I fly our Phantom straight away from me, say 100m, and then straight back again, it finishes about 5-10m to my right. What could be causing this and what do I need to do to rectify it?

If anyone gets the lens filter mounting kit for the Phantom Vision, be careful when assembling it. There's some 1.5mm screws that can easily be stripped when tightening. Might have to get the pliers out to finish it off :(

The screws they use for everything are easily stripped! I've got one rounded hex screw I can't get out. I'm going to try JB weld and an Allen key.

Why do they do that, its so annoying??!!

Its gone on a little bit more with the use of pliers but I don't want to keep trying just incase I break it.

DJI love to use crappy screws. I managed to strip one of the motor mount screws on my S800 EVO. That was a pain in the backside.

My TBS Disco had awful screws too, the problem is unless you pay silly money everything is made down to a price in China, even TBS and DJI which are considered premium brands have just average quality components and manufacturing with good marketing.

How many satellites do you have locked? If you only have the minimum required for a position lock the GPS may still only have a resolution of 5-10 metres. Most people recommend hanging around for a few minutes until it has aquired more satellites.

Maybe it's deliberate... they are selling screw kits now...

How did you get that screw out? I don't like the idea of drilling it out, hence the JB Weld and Allen key plan...

Pretty sure full (6+, ie no red flash). Will double check though.

The 3 screws holding the Hubsan x4 body together are fine too. Un-screwed and re-screwed a few times after needing to solder and re-solder the mains connection

(im getting better at soldering at least!)

Took a dremel cutting wheel to the head yesterday, when it (still on its spindle) worked loose at full speed. I was wearing goggles at the time but it was a sharp reminder and will definitely make me think twice if tempted to cut something, however insignificant, without safely goggles!

Got a Mobius Action camera yesterday, annoyingly a good chunk of the picture is out of focus all the time :( Doing some troubleshooting on it and chatting in the RCGroups thread but I'm not going to be keeping it like it is at the mo.
Shame as otherwise it seems a fantastic piece of kit, the majority of the picture is very sharp, the fov from the wide lens is going to be great for aerial footage and it's even smaller than I realised!
