Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

But would you then apply that ban to all RC aircraft?

I wouldn't, no. No idea what the CAA will do though. I would expect that they would only apply it to SUAS (craft with cameras).

So I've bought an F550 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171548546847?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Cheapest place around, free next day delivery. Be here tomorrow :)

Nice one. Enjoy it. That's an extremely good price considering the Naza-M V2 + GPS is £190 on it's own.

I shopped around a little.

I just added the cost up so far and still gotta get batteries

GoPro Hero 3 Black £117.99

FrSky TARANIS 2.4GHz Transmitter Combo £190.78

DJI Phantom Gopro Metal Brushless Camera Gimbal £46.99

DJI Flame Wheel F550 Kit ARTF E300 with Naza v2 GPS £349.00

Aeroxcraft DJI F550 Landing Gear Set £67.03

Total £771.79

I'm going to add some cost to that for you. Ditch that gimbal. You will spend hours tuning it and never get it quite right. Get yourself a 2nd hand Zenmuse H3-2D or if you can stretch to it, an H3-3D. You won't regret it.

One thing I've learned with this AP stuff is never skimp on the gimbal. DJI make the best of the affordable ones and they work perfectly, straight away with no messing about.

Where on earth do you get a GoPro Hero 3 black for £117.99 ?

Was £110 really plus £7.99 delivery

See bellow

Flukester has been a massive help over the past few hours.

I also want to share this deal for anyone wanting to get a cheap GoPro Hero 3 Black

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221610393470?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I sent an offer of £110, had to wait for them to accept it so £118 delivered done!

Offers of £80, £90 had failed. Good luck only 3 left

Nothing :D

Would it be more prudent to get something like the hubsan as i see that readily suggested around here?

Hubsan X4 everyone knows as it is a brand new and a good bit of kit. A new item out that seams to be doing well is the Syma X4 Gyro. £25 off eBay, worth playing with to see if it's what you want.

250 Quad kit can be had for £90 but you need a tranny and battery

See if you can try some goggles before buying them. I bought some FatShark Attitudes and quite frankly, I thought they were ****. Tiny little picture and not immersive at all, and the Attitudes have some of the largest FoV of any of the goggles.

I just don't get it to be honest, but others love them. Hence, try them first if you can.
