My 1st ever full build log - likely to need your support!

I expect this is a stupid question but I have plugged in the 24 pin connection from the psu. However, there is also an 8 pin and 2 4 pins, do they all have to be plugged in or do I only need the 24 pin?

I'm stressed tbh, I've got no fags left and I have no beer in so I'm off out to Bargain Booze!

You need to plug in the white socket where the cable tie is in your pictures, above and to the left side of the CPU socket. It looks like it is 4 pin, but I can't be certain from your pictures.

I'd better add that you might want someone else to confirm this; only built my first computer a month or so back and it was AMD not Intel...

You will need to plug the 8 pin atx cable in at the top where the cable tie is like b3mor has stated. just pop the little cover of it and plug in

. without it your system probably wont boot

I love that case - recently rebuilt my system into one and it was a dream. Usual Lian Li quality with lots of nice little features.
You should have no problems sorting the cables out.

Cheers, have got it plugged in now.

Not sure I'm doing all that good with the cable routing tbh but I'll keep at it. I hope I get this finished tonight. Day has been full of interruptions, is no good when you've got a missus, 2 kids and a dog who all need attention!

No probs, It does take time routing the cables, I used to go back to mine every so often to change the route.

Get it running first and worry about cable routing later.

plenty of time to sit down ...gaze into the case and work out cable routes and which cable extensions to buy etc etc

oh my gawd ... i feel the need to peer into my case!!!!!....lol

Another question sorry. The pci-e connectors for the psu are marked A and B, there is a ferrite bead towards the end of B. Am I correct to assume that A goes in to the psu and B in to the gpu? I guess logic would suggest so but it doesn't seem to say in the manual and my concern is that the weight of the ferrite bead seems to bend the gpu!

usually the pci-e conector are marked or it should be in the manual what psu are you using

confirm bead goe's at gpu end

just looked at my hx750 and it's the same

Just checked the 6+2 cable and the bead is on the end that connects to the gpu. I can only assume that it should be ok but it is weighty and I'm uncomfortable with the obvious bend to the gpu.

It should be fine if your worried you can make a prop for it at a later date. i used a prop for mine once made out of a piece of dowel heat shrinked in rubber lol

Thought I'd cracked the cable management but I couldn't get the bloody side panel on because of the cables. So to hell with it, it is late and I'm tired and tidy cables can wait till another day so please excuse the spaghetti junction!

I think it is time to power it up and see what happens! However, I can't figure out if I need to move any jumpers on the mobo? There is also a jumper on the hard drive that I'm not sure if needs moving? Anyone know the score with this?

It is very rare that you need to move any jumpers to run things normally like you are here.
Ive used that motherboard before and none of the jumpers needed changing.

Would a pic of my build (same case) help with ideas on cable management?

Cheers, I actually managed to figure out before I went to bed last night that I didn't need to move any. I would appreciate a pic re the cables thanks.

I'm delighted to inform that even in it's messy state it works! Got Win 7 installed and all is smooth. Graphics driver went without a hitch too. Only issue I had was searching around the house for a PS2 mouse this morning as I need the latest driver from Roccat (Have downloaded but it is a rar file, is winrar still free?).

A quick mention on temps but bear in mind I haven't yet done any overclocking or put the system under any real load. I've currently got Asus Probe launched and it is showing cpu as 25c and mb as 28c. I've no idea if that is good or not tbh or if Asus probe can be trusted.
