Ah yes I know the place.

I rang them for a quote on rebuilding a JC5 for me.

me: "How much to rebuild a JC5?"

CPS: "i cant tell you a price until we've got it and know what needs doing"

me: "I just want a full rebuild, new bearings, seals and so on"

CPS: "We'd need to have it apart and see what needs replacing first"

me: "OK, the box is fine, I just want new bearings and seals, how much roughly am I looking at?"

CPS: "We'd need to get it apart first"

WTF, I'm hardly going to give them my gearbox to take apart without at least having some idea of what they are going to charge me :?

Yes I did mean JC5. Also I do have a spare F7R-710 lump here also. with a spun bearing. That well. I'm hoping to get rid of the base block at FCS.

Nice idea, but why bother doing all that to a 1.8? How have you widened the track too?

Nice looking engine dude. Shame about the car imo, place that in a standard looking clio and you would have a real winner!

Hey Maxiboy, didn't know you were on these forums mate!!

Some of the members here have quite a large chip on their shoulder though when it comes to modded car's that aren't to their taste... I remember when I posted mine up with the Dimma kit and they were saying "take the spoiler off" yea ok, i'll take the spoiler off a 5k kit because BMW boy doesn't like it.

I'm glad you like it mate all that counts and some of us can appreciated the work that's gone into that..

Lowe, it's using a 1.8 block because it's a better stronger base than the F7R. Also my mates low boost turbo (thick head gasket, standard internals) was making 220bhp. This one has low comp pistons, strengthened bottom end etc and they can produce 320bph on a standard, generic map by BB Tuning.

Can't see the T28 making those figures but IMO 300 on a turbo is more than enough through the front wheels LSD or not.

As for the rest, not keen on the colour but wide arch hot hatches just do it for me. i.e A black supercharged Dimma 205 would turn me from Scoob ownership in a heartbeat :)

Come on - theres modded cars and there are bright green Clios with bodykits which don't fit the car properly and leave huge panel gaps, you have to agree?

lol @ £5k bodykit on 1.4 litre L reg Clio (I know you've done an engine transplant now, but you hadn't then).

It's what he wanted.. He could have bought a BMW like you but didn't.

The reason the previous owner paid that price is because he wanted something a bit exclusive, that's what he got. Several came out of the factory like that (in 1.8 guise) but if you wanted it fitting after, it cost.

Whats your obsession with my car all of a sudden? Thats twice now you've managed to bring it into a thread about modified Clios. It's off topic, don't you know?

Unless DIMMA went into the Renault factory and bodykitted several cars up on the production line, none of them came out of the factory like that I dont think...

Who said I was talking about you in the 1st post? Maybe you just assumed that because you fit the bill nicely?

Pot says to Kettle: "Is it because I is black?"

Because it was quite blatently obvious that you was and now you're retreating behind an extremely thin line of obscurity?

Was it? Is fox the only BMW owner with a chip on his shoulder? Ok then, shush.

Fox, 50 came out like that, all numbered.

Maxiboy I think your car looks superb mate, a real head turner!

I bet it goes like stink and corners on rails too, awesome car :)

Oh I can't possibly think why. I doubt it's got anything to do with me being the only person in this thread who both happens to own a BMW and think snot coloured Clios look silly.
