My Light Painting Evolving

A quick 30 minute trip to do a bit of Troy Paiva esque shoot at a wee scrap yard 30 seconds from where I am just now. Great fun, a few interesting things to soot but most of the rest had already been flattened ready to be shipped out. Here's the first shot

And I know views aren't a huge thing but my thread now has well over 5k... That's immense! Thanks for dropping by everyone!

Just discovered this thread - some amazing photos! :) Will definitely be keeping an eye on it for more!

Thanks glad you like.

It's been a while since I have been out Light Painting really, so here's a shot from last weeks excursion up to the War Memorial in Stornoway. Didn't have a great night... my focusing let me down somewhat all my own fault though but you live and learn!

Wow, surprised you could get into that VOR, I would've thought those things were sealed tighter than a gnats whotsit seeing as how aircraft navigation depends on them and all.

Stunning photos though, this is one of the best threads on the board.

Thanks :) yes you would think! Just a normal fence with a gate that's unlocked haha.

Some awesome shots

Thanks!

Full moon time again :D although the weather isn't up to much I managed out for half an hour last night.

An old Airidh (Moor house) that's fallen into disrepair over the years, Yn-467 with purple gel and Canon 540ez with yellow/orange gel, triggered with Yn-602s.

Some awesome shots! ;)

But damn you! Now I have something else to learn how to fail miserably at!! :P

Thanks! Glad you like, give it a try it's is really good fun. If in doubt just go through the thread as I have tried to put as much info in as possible as well as my Flickr has all the exif of the shots intact so that will give you a rough guide for settings to get started and experiment with :D

Now a lesson on standing as still as possible for half a minute!

Quality ;)

Have looked through some of the flickr streams you linked and definitely think I'll give it a try... some crazy shots with people rotating the cameras etc.

The wire wool is definitely intriguing me!

Thanks for looking, yes give it a try, so much fun to have!

The first from last nights trip, for those that have come through the thread you may recognize the Airidh (moor house) from a few months ago. Decided on a return trip along the Pentland road, good fun!

All of last nights shots were with my new Tamron 17-50mm, great lens and having the option of going to 2.8 is great for getting star shots without trails (hint at whats to come ;)) and it's just pin sharp!
