My Light Painting Evolving

In a way it's not too expensive at all! Cheap Ebay remote (for shots over 30seconds) £10-£15 and some battery powered Christmas lights £1.50 max or you can get double packs for about £2.50... at least that's what I started off with. Once you start looking into bigger and better alternatives... I use an LED Lenser P5 for my Orb tool now and a P7 as my flash-light for lighting things along with a Yongnuo 467 as a strobe and then there are the Lenser V-24's :( ouch haha

Nice one... glad you like hopefully more to come soon with a wee one due in less than two weeks my timetable has been filled with other stuff :D

Thanks for that will try some orbs at some point & using the packs as you say i guess you have to play with the lights to bundle them together?

Yea once I got the fairly lights I cut the cable between the switch and lights, added a 3core power cable (3rd core isn't used) wired both ends back and that's it. You can see the difference in orbs from the early fairly lights to the P5. I have gone back and tinkered with the fairly light tool and used it in the two most recent orbs, 'to the point' and 'the big dipper', safe to say I won't be using the P5 tool for a while!

Yea... Loads of practise! I have done stacks of Orbs that aren't here and loads of in the flat ones for practise and experimenting with the tools and different colours.

Thanks Koolpc, I've fairly filled it up! So addictive I just can't stop haha!

Some great stuff there. Almost makes me miss living in Stornoway...almost. ;)

Ah a fellow islander! Haha yea it ales a good while to get a clear night out ;)

Went out Aurora hunting last night but he was hiding :( anyway managed to get some nice shots. I have also forced myself to take non-light painting night shots more, so you will hopefully see more if my stuff elsewhere.

Hi, thanks for dropping by. It really depends when and what you are doing and going to light. I have a Lenser P5 rated at 105 lumen's for smaller things and a P7 rated at 200 lumen's for bigger things (buildings/far away subjects) a flash can also be pretty good for lighting up inside ruins and buildings.

ambient light really helps with exposure length, the full moon is the optimum time and can really give you great effects. Best thing is give this thread a read, I have tried to give as much detail in what I do to help, then just get out there! :)

Yay I'm the 100th like. What do I win? :D

Thanks for the like, much appreciated! Hmm prizes... How about an Internet cookie ;)

One from my most recent trip. Been wanting to go here for a while, it's a great place... Better than I imagined, will be going back as not 100% happy with what I did with some of the shots so will redo them. Here's a sneak peek though!
