My new Samsung 26" LCD

Looks like a really nice screen. Could anyone comment on the following:
- DVI connection. I use one with my TFT, does the Sammy support DVI for say PC usage. I found that moving to DVI with my TFT improved normal web browing immensely, and would hope to use DVI for the Sammy
- The feedback looks very positive on gaming. No negative comments on ghosting or similar?
- If I bought one, I'd like to also connect up my freeview and DVD player, probably by Scart and S-Vid. Does it have connections for those, and does it work well with them?

the tv doesnt have a DVI connection BUT you can get DVI - HDMI cables so that will work. i have te 32" version and theres no ghosting at all, it is very nice for gaming :) it has a scart connection, but im not too sure about s-vid. i think it really boils down to the quality of the dvd player, i cant really comment as my dvd's connected through hdmi.

Tried&Tested - liking the sammy, so much so that i just ordered the 32' for a price i fixed back in august. As far as i understand they no longer suffer from tearing, have you noticed any ?

I've recently recieved my Samsung 32" version and am pleased with it. But I am having a problem with displaying my pc over the vga connection. It's hard to describe but what seems to be happening is that there is a trail ghosting from anything displayed on the screen to the right. I can't really post a picture of it as I'm not sure if it will come out. Tried&Tested does this happen on your screen?

Well I had the chance to buy the 26" version today but I think I'm going to stick with my original choice of the Eizo 21" widescreen monitor. Apart from the huge 5 year guarantee, I'm just too used to the huge desktop real estate running at 1680*1050 gives.

Phone in pic for scale..NO other reason! :) Photos a little blurred i'm afraid..room is quite dark.

Inosanto - nothing like you described happening here mate.

$anch3z - no ghosting noticed at all. Would have returned it otherwise.

Have you tried using the auto image adjust?

Whats a regular TV picture like on it?

I was looking at lcd's today and saw both the samsung 26" and 32" versions on display. Both had a VERY nice picture, but I thought the 26" was slightly ahead in quality, but it does depend on soooo many things, i/p signal quality, umpteen other screens running off the same aerial i/p, etc.

It all depends on how close your going to be to the screen.
All of the Samsungs in this range, have the same number of pixels on the screen. The only difference is that the bigger ones have the pixels bigger, and the smaller ones, pixels smaller. So close up, the smaller screen will look better, further away, you've got more to look at. :)

Hi
ive just recieved the 32 inch version of this tv and to be honest im not impressed with the picture quality, the hd dvd that came with it has a nice crisp clear picture but watching sky is awful everything just seems blurred and watching football is shockingly bad.
am i doing something wrong i expected better than this or is this just the way lcd tvs are?
i have it connected with a scart lead would a better quality lead be worth buying.

cheers

it has freeview integrated into the tv already. thats partly why i bought mine (second to everyone on here raving about them). i had already decided on a couple i liked, look on here and everyone seems to have one!!!! that settled it, no need to start a new thread asking as it seemed i would get a unanymous decision :D

had mine 2hours, and really impressed.

Probably a daft question, but what is the picture quality like when using a normal tv aerial and watching normal programmes/broadcast films, etc? I fancy one of these, but like I said, I saw it yesterday amongst a load of others all sharing the same input. Also what is the dvd playback quality like. This is not gonna be used with a pc, just for family viewing in the house in place of the monster thats sitting in the corner atm.
This is related to the 26" samsung btw.
Cheers
