Must be your aerial. The missus mum and dad have this and the picture quality is fantastic, even better than my panasonic pl1 and that's good...

Don't bother, for the price, it's not worth it. CRTs will suffer the same problems existing ones do, bad geometry and will be very very bulky.willd58 said:Im thinking about getting one of these as a second display to my 19" LCD, for movies and TV mainly, but also to use with my PC as a second display, either to play games on it and still see windows background or have windows on it and play games on my 19" LCD.
What do you guys think? its an awful lot of money you see, and i dont know if i want one just yet. Im thinking of going for one of the HD CRT's, a bigger 32" jobby just for movies and TV when they come out over here. I cant really make up my mind.

If you're looking at something for the PC too, go for the Dell 2405FPW, loads of inputs, VGA, component, DVI and all that, 24", very high resolution (will do 1080p), and decent brightness settings.
Movies and TV over here won't be for ages (in HD), and will have teething problems that you'll want to pass by, you'll be waiting minimum of a year for that. Just get the Dell chappie!

Looking at the specs/discussion on other forums for this, it doesn't support PC over DVI, only over DSUB (old analogue). Surely its shouldn't care if I plug a DVI - HDMI cable between the PC and screen? What gives?

turtle3 said:Well this is what ive been griping about a few posts back, I tried the dvi to hdmi lead and the picture is terrible, the text is very blurred with the display not fitting the screen no matter what res i use,,, Real shame really but the vga connection gives an absolutely crystal clear picture which rivals some monitors ive seen,,, looks like im gonna have to try a KVM switch so I can have two vga's going in
my origian post was:
Has anyone had any joy connecting the sammy to their pc via hdmi?? Ive got the lead (dvi to hdmi) but cant select a resolution that fits on the screen I can choose 1280x720 which is fine via VGA but with the hdmi lead but it doesnt fit and the text looks blurred? the only other resolutions available are 800x600 1900x1600 and these is no good either?? do I have to make a custom resolution???
The reason I want to connect this way is in this thread below

Has anyone got any suggestions? it looks like im stumped???
thanks
