My new Samsung 26" LCD

Just ordered 2*Samsung LE26R41B with the 20% discount. £960 including delivery

Not both for me though

Will be using mine as a monitor/tv for xbox360 :D

Cheers for the recomendations contained with in the thread

is this monitor bad for watching tv and movies in hd, does it have twinkling or noise or ghosting and is the blacks too dark when watching movies?
as its either this or the NEC LCD20WGX2 or viewsonic VX2025WM

cheers

Did you order online or by phone and have you had a call about your delivery time?

Yours arrived yet mate?

Well, i ordered mine early in the week, and got it on the friday, even with them sending me a credit agreement that i rang up about and said i wasnt signing because i had already paid in full...

Anyway, not bad service, and my Sammy is great for the price of £480... cant stop playing on my 360...

Is the 'place' that does the 20% discount still actually doing the discount? I want to order one but when I read the terms of the 20% off it says its not for electrical items? Did the 20% have to be from a code you enter or is it just knocked off at the end of your first order?

Im thinking about getting one of these as a second display to my 19" LCD, for movies and TV mainly, but also to use with my PC as a second display, either to play games on it and still see windows background or have windows on it and play games on my 19" LCD.

What do you guys think? its an awful lot of money you see, and i dont know if i want one just yet. Im thinking of going for one of the HD CRT's, a bigger 32" jobby just for movies and TV when they come out over here. I cant really make up my mind.

That's pretty much my plan mate. My LE26R41BD was dispatched today, and is going to be paired with a Samsung Syncmaster 730MW 17" widescreen monitor.

Both will be connect to my pc via an X1600 AGP card, and my dvd player, ps2, etc. will also be connected to the big screen.

I'm very excited, although a little nervous about the quality of the analogue tv signal (no Freeview in the Channel Islands unfortunately :( )

If you could let me know how you get on, with some pics and what not, that would be great.

As I suspected, tv quality is awful.

It's great having a 26" pc monitor though! And my old dvd player and PS2 look great too. I have some new cables on the way as well which will hopefully improve the signals.

Piccies to follow.

hmm im getting ghostng on mine within windows, is quite clearly visible on text i.e there is a visible shadow behind,

any ideas how i can gte that sorted out? just played with drivers and powerstrip, but cant fix it?

Have you run the PC auto adjust in the settings after setting your resolution to 1360x768?

Ive been using this as a PC monitor since i got back to uni, and frankly, its giving me eyestrain.. maybe because its damn big/bright or that im only a few feet away.. furthermore, some colours are just carp on dark backgrounds.. Lovely Jubbly!! :(

got a new TFT coming now..

gord,

ye si have done the auto adjust etc, and played aroound.

to get away from the eye strain im gettin a wireless key/b and mouse so i can sit further away!

have been thinking about getting a TF monitor instead, but 20 inches just isnt enough for ps2 games etc
