My Silverstone Fortress Build

lol I hate you. Gonna go cry now, damn you! :D
Seriously one of the best looking air cooled machines I have ever seen... gosh.

I've only managed 9942 in 3dmark vantage, but haven't bothered with overclocking the card or pushing the cpu further more. That's some very nice results you got there though! :)

Looking good there Magic, nice setup with the crossfire and all. How do you rate the Patriot RAM? I'm thinking of going i7 and wondered that you don't see many sets supporting XMP which yours does I think? I've found some elsewhere but not sure if it's worth paying the extra postage from another site so would appreciate any insight's you'd care to share about them! Cheers m8:)

How is that 650 watt coping?

It's running a dream. Although i don't know how to test exactly how much power my machine is using.

as this is the only set of ram i've used all i can say is it's a doddle to setup. Straight into bios, XMP setup and instantly @ 1600mhz 8,8,8,24.

Speed wise it's very responsive.

Thanks for the info Magic, I was looking at 2000MHz RAM to gaurantee it not being a limit for OC'ing, but tbh I doubt I'm gonna want to go over 4GHz OC on the CPU and from your sig that and more is clearly poss with 1600MHz RAM, so that'll save me a few quid! Cheers:)

I ended up buying the same case and PSU as you, tiny problem, i tried installing the PSU and its very tight fit, that bit of foam strip seems to be in the way? but yours seems to be fine... or is it the same?

The foam is supposed to be very tight, it is designed to reduce the likelihood of vibrations.

yes it is very tight but as Diggsy said it's to stop vibration. Just a gentle pursuation to the metal (lift it slightly) and it'll slide in no trouble.

thanks guys, it was a tight fit:)

just powered on for the 1st time, now tell me, is it supposed to beep? did yours beep?
same case btw

I Hope You don't mind me asking all these questions on your thread magic, but my front fan seems to be spinning @ 700 ish rpm and top fan @ 360 ish rpm, it was 400+ last night, its getting slower?! :S any ideas?

No extentions, connections checked.
Its just that top fan thats underperforming @ 500/600 rpm, i tried plugging the fan into other sockets on the board, same results. Also when i plug it into 'system fan 3' socket, the fan speed is not shown in BIOS or SpeedFan program.
so whats up :(
