GPS Problem solved!!
I thought it was an N95 hardware problem - it seems it is just a software problem. I was nearly going to send the phone back now probably not! All you need to do is download this:
http://www.mgmaps.com/download.php
It is google/yahoo/microsoft maps (satellite and virtual) combined with the GPS on the phone and its works a real treat. It works so well, tracks you smoothly, gets a signal instantly, you can add in landmarks, fon access points etc etc.
This is exactly how I imagined a GPS mobile device would work! Ok it doesnt have voice directions but thats not what I wanted it for. At any rate the existing GPS software on the phone will work well within a car.
Now all we need is VOIP/Skype sorted and we have a hell of a phone. (well and the battery life - which I havent tested yet)
