N95 Release

yes orange, something about switching from 3g to lower, i dont want to have to keep doing it manually. gps takes ages and the battery life really is ridiculous.

hehehe glad to see Orange are still useless. Happenend with me when I got a 3g phone from them years back & I ended up selling it as Orange could never fix the problem. I then got a N70 when they first came out & forgot about the earlier problems I had & again they couldn't fix the issue over the 6 months I had the phone. I ended up managing to get a few months free out of them for it & sold the n70. If I was you I would return the phone to them if you are still able to & leave orange otherwise you will be in for months of stress with them

im going to return it but it looks like ill be without a phone now for a week. they did me a good deal so i want to get a w880i out of them but the week will be a hassle.

its a decent phone but its just not worth it for the battery life or gps.

I'm on Orange and don't have any problems at all :)

I last took my phone off charge at 11am on Sunday.

Since then I've used the GPS for 20 minutes, took 5 pictures, shot 1 1-minute long video, checked my e-mails via GPRS twice and sent 502 texts. I have three bars of battery life left :)

My phone is locked to 2G mode and I've used a mixture of silent, vibrate and full ring profiles. I have my screen brightness set to the lowest setting, and similarly with the time out setting etc.

For those that use Exchange it's worth noting that Mail For Exchange currently doesn't work properly on the N95 :( Mine is basically a glorified paperweight because of that.

Have you tried using it as a phone ? :p

Just got my N95 from T-mobile and it keeps restarting itself every 1-2 mins. It's fully charged.
Anyone else had this problem? or do I need to send it back?

Firmware version 10.0.0.018 dated 15/03/07

One of ours does that, turned out to be the SIM. I'm guessing they've had a few problems with certain SIMs because it's the first thing the lady on the support line suggested.

There's a phone buried in all those gadgets? :) The only reason I use a symbian phone (N73 currently) is for Exchange Push Email. As one of the big plusses for smart phones it's a bit wierd Nokia haven't got it working yet :(

Thanks, I'll get onto them for a replacement.

Ok, a further 71 texts sent and received and I'm getting low battery warnings. So not bad really - over two days moderate to heavy usage (low usage of camera/gps functions though).

Did you leave it on overnight?

another little niggle... but why have a camera with a timer when the phone only just manages to stand up on its own... and when it does, the camera points down?? Whats that all about!!!

waiting for my phone to arrive this morning, no joy so far. Need to pop out for 30mins or so, WHAT SHOULD I DO  , I really really dont want to wait until tommorow to get it.
