Question for the owners. Ford have told my father he has to go to Ipswich to pick his up. Has everyone had to do this or are they taking the mickey?

I collected mine from the dealership I ordered from, the Ford network can in theory transport the car to any dealer of your choice I would have thought.

It will mainly be down to cost. Ford pays for transport to their FordStore dealers. I would guess anything onwards would be at cost of the dealer so may be a reason they want it collected from Ipswich.

I ordered from a FordStore and collected from the same.

Last time we bought from Polar (Now Trust) was a 2nd hand Fiesta Zetec S and they transported it across the country for just a £50 refundable deposit.

I'd suggest his dealer is taking the ****.

Shop around, I used carwow recently and whilst they won't knock any money off they will deliver to your door for nothing.

Overly expensive for stripes. Cheaper to have them done after delivery by a wrap company. Also not particularly great stripes. I prefer solid rather than the faded style they went with.

There were full liveried up Escort RS Cosworths kicking around some forces many many years ago (20 or so) complete with Whale Tail

Essex Police were one of the first with a Cosworth left hand drive version for evaluation.

First thing they did was remove the whale tale as the head of traffic said he didn't want it looking like a boy racer car.

Sgt and a PC out on very first patrol in it get a shout and as soon as the Sgt puts his foot down looses control and puts in a ditch upside down killing the PC instantly

Guess what, the next one they got the whale tale stayed on.........
