The mini-mod just makes the control latency with the game a lot smaller so reacts quicker. Does nothing to the grip etc.
Just came across this post from Juls at NoGrip :
The in-game wheel animation is delayed like in Dirt2 because some filters are applied. You can not use this animation as a reference to know the input lag.
But in telemetry screen, the white cursor on the left shows current position of your controller. It still shows some delay, but far less than the animation.
If you have high framerate, you probably don't have any input lag at all, it is inversely proportional to framerate. What we feel as lag is (like the swaying) related to tyres, suspensions, aero, FFB settings. In Shift physics model tyre walls stretch unlike in many other sims, and it gives a short delay before you get full reaction from the car. By default this delay is quite long for some cars, so the mod tries to reduce it...but it is still there and trying to obtain immediate car reactions like in many other sims can't be achieved and would be IMO throwing a nice part of the tyre model.
Suspensions springs by default are too soft, buy the customisable suspension, and set them to the middle stiffness it reduces a lot the delay in car reaction.
The dll included in minimod now will probably have no effect at all if you have a high framerate.
