^ Need for Speed Shift ^

well just downloaded, using with an xbox 360 controller its definatly lacking in that department, and graphics are not entirely smooth for me , currently in crossfire, will be a wait and see to see if these issues get sorted before splashing any cash on it

Just downloaded too... and tbh it's a cracking game but it made my hardware cry :o

Didn't like crossfire but I'm blaming my setup as it's not designed for games.

I see this game running sweet on a decent setup

My G25 settings for anyone thats interested.

you need to go to game play and then advanced controls i think.. if you go to gameplay and controls it wont have these options

just got this game - am quite enjoying it - first racing game i've played on the pc i think. runs fine maxed out on 1080p 8x aa and 16x af between 50-60 fps. if i drop the aa and af to 4x its nearer 55/60 (vsync enabled)

Anyone else finding this game hardlocks their PC?

Windows 7 64 bit here, no other game gives me this many problems

i7 920 @ stock
6GB Corsair RAM
4870x2 GPU

hardlocks literally stop me doing anything and I have to do a manual reset, even ctrl-alt-del don't work?

same here
xp
8800gt
2gig ram
amd 4800 x2

Nice pics, especially the rear of Porche. :D
Lovin' this game. Maybe my favourite pc racer yet.
Hope people play this the way it is meant to be played, with cockpit view.
Seeing some vids on youtube people playing with flying behind the car view, I feel sorry for them. Driving with that view feels so unresponsive.
Back in the cockpit though and wow this game rocks.
Getting used to the handling and subtleties. (Yes it does have them Hallelujah. :) )
Also the tracks are brilliant (Remind me of one of my favourite racers ever slightly, Ferrari F355.) and seem to be quite different one from another, not like any other racer I can think of.
The tier 3 Lotus Exige S race at East Glen-(somethingorother) at sunset. Niiiiiiccccceeee.

I'm just about ready to give up on the god damn game till EA fix the crappy responce time on the controls. I've avoided every single RWD event because the damn car will not do what you want. Spent about 4 hours tring the CCX Vs Zonda event and I'm just about ready to throw my PC through the window, nothing works. Spent about half that time buggering with the settings to find some setup that does not cause RWD cars to slide like hell.

Managed to win the first round first try and soon as I get to the second BOOM ****ing game crashes. 4 hours later and countless retries and I still can't beat the git once. Either I go in full pelt into the first real corner and the car has a cardiac arrest ****s up and slides off the track, or I go in nice and easy and ZOOM oponent passes me perfectly then goes into the next tight corner at impossible speeds. This isn't WipEout, there's no need to put cheating bull**** AI in even on easy!. Half the time I tap the button and the car slides round the corner costing a lot of time. The other half, I have to hold the key down for a full second before it will begin to turn, then ig just goes haywire. Am I missing something here?!

more rear wing, softer springs, less accelerator deadzone. not tried drifting yet though but i get my porsche gt3 sideways a fair bit if i want to around the nords.

are you sure it's on easy. i'm also playing on easy (:o) and find the opponents driving is pretty sloppy. you can make a few mistakes and still win. i did that event first time (assuming you mean the invitation event on tier1??)

i'm playing with handling model set to experienced (much easier than having driving aids on). i then used the settings for the 360 controller posted a few pages back and instead of using the triggers to accelerate/brake, i've assinged those to the A/X buttons instead. i can't get on with the triggers in any racing game. :p

100% sure it's on easy. I kicked it up to medium after destroying the AI on the first tier which provided quite a challenge for the tier 2 events. Cleared all of those except the drift events which again I fail misserably at them because they're all RWD based cars. They disable all driving aids so every car in these events have psychopathic handling.

I'm playing with my Logitech G15 keyboard. Haven't got a 360 or a 360 pad (would do if the git actually pays for the PS3 I sold) so I'm limited to the keyboard. Never really had a problem with games on keyboard (completed Mirror's Edge, GRID, Every NFS game from Most Wanted through to Undercover excluding Pro Street, Burnout, Colin McRae Rally 2005, Dirt just to name a few) but for the likes of me I just cannot get to grips with FUBAR system.

I fully get that you gave to spend time tuning your cars to get the best out of them and adapt your playing style to suite the type of event you enter. The Ford GT40 in GT5P on the PS3 had the same suicidle handling in it's stock settings as RWD cars in Shift, but it only took half an hour and about 20 laps to tune to your needs. 4 hours and no progress made is really unreasonable. They did this on Undercover also. There were a couple of races where using a fully tuned CCX that had the same speed as a Veyron but much better handling, couldn't beat a Mercedes SLR unless you drove perfectly and the AI screwed up once.

Anyone else using the keyboard that can suggest a car that handles more easily..? The lotus Elise is the best I've found so far but I still find it difficult not to swerve around the track, even going in a straight line sometimes!

I've been using the keyboard for years with driving games and do find this a challenge!
