Need for Speed Time Trial Championship ** Season 2 ** (Multiplatform)

Merlin: You tend to turn in a bit early and drop 1 gear too many, try and hold 5th through the faster bends and carry a bit more speed. Slap the downforce up to 14 front and 15 rear in tuning to help.

You also need to come off the suggested line more, for example the left hander after the corkscrew I come right over to the right and hold 5th gear pinned all the way through that bend in a power slide.

Not bad otherwise, I'll post a video of how I'm getting round for comparison.

Slight improvement again!!!

Great time by the way Nikaz, that will take some beating.

Cheers dureth for the tips. Though tbh, wondering if that would really cut 10+ seconds off my time. I'll give it a good few attempts and see what I can come up with.

Just to double check mate, have you installed works upgrade?

I have yeah. Do you think the car perhaps just isn't fast enough (slower than yours at accelerating and top speed?) and might be contributing to slower times (as well as me needing to improve my driving)?

i appologise for picking a dud car, ive been away over the weekend so aint been able to post in here. shame as i was really looking forward to that car :p

its seems the new car choice from who ever picked it hasnt worked out either :p

Sorry Merlin I can't get a video to record properly.

10 seconds is perfectly possible with some tuning. A 1.35 is acheivable in the stock car. I am using a wheel and peddles though, not sure how much of an advantage that is.

You can cut 0.5 seconds each corner from carrying extra speed and another 0.5 on each straight from getting a better drive out of the corner. It all adds up on a longer track like this.

Well there's been loads of cars I haven't had a great affinity with, but I am really not enjoying this one at all. I'm going to skip the rest of this week I think, going to replay TDU with manual gears & clutch, the G25 gearbox makes this loads of fun :)

See you all on Saturday for the next challenge!

Just been working on one, never done one before so has taken a while :)

That was a mid 1:34 lap which was followed a few minutes later but not video'd with this lap:

To get that I had tweaked the gearing a bit more so I wasn't dropping to 4th for turn 5, and was getting much better drive out of turn 4. I've seemd to end up with it set up very much as a drift car, and I'm not sure that is the best way. If anyone in the 1.32's could post a video it would be great.

Thanks a lot Nem, nicely done, and now I 'get it'. :D I have to drift the car and make the back slide out quite severly to get these turns with speed. I'm geting better at it, but I lose time at the corkscrew and after that, and also I'm finding turn 5, ( the left bend going uphill prior to the corkscrew) quite hard getting the braking time right. I always thought I had to keep a neat racing line for the shortest times, but as you demonstrated and as dureth had told me, it's good to come off the line in places.

hate the car not even done a flying lap, think i managed a 1:39 on opening lap.

not going to take part this week as i truly hate that car.

Why not take the opportunity to do a few laps around 'The Ring' if this weeks combo isn't to your liking.

From the First Post

In addition to the Weekly Events there's a Bonus Event running alongside. This particular event is immune to deadline so will continue to run as long as this thread stays alive. Yeah, you guessed it THE NORDSCHLEIFE.
  • You can use any car you like for the Bonus Event be it from Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4.
You can use 'Race' mode instead of 'Time Attack' if you prefer.
