Need serious help, I'm in trouble.....

The real "Law of the Jungle".

I suggest the same, also don't let him sense weakness or he'll be all over you. Deal with it for now be brave and start looking to move out of there man, it doesn't sound like a environment you want to live in.

Lol, way to catch up on the thread dude.

Lowrider, good going mate, well done. The probable truth is that between drug and dink fuelled episodes he's not a complete moron...and you caught him at such a time as Dave18 says.
Either way its a positive step and seems like its given you a little confidence to move on to the next step.....ass in gear!
Nice one, pleased for you.

Just remember he will be a completely different person on drug so if he wasnt on anything at the time and read the letter the human being inside him may have gone "man i'm a tool" but when hes back on drugs he will go straight back into "man i ******* rule" and go back to being a ****.

Best of luck mate, nice to see rational thinking and the letter writing has 'calmed' the bully situation for now without resorting to calling Cheats down to run the guy out of time with one arm tied behind his back while hopping! =|

I hope you manage to get yourself out of the place your in and even if you do just find a minimum wage job else where it pays the bills and your moving out of your rut.

Times sound hard and having the balls to do anything about it is the hardest part but at least now you can take the events that have happened to motivate yourself and give you what you need to get out!

GL mate!

I'm glad things have calmed down for now and hope that continues. Also well done for the letter, that must boost your confidence a little. Can I suggest you print this quote from yourself out and put it somewhere you will see it every day. Hopefully it will spur you to doing something very positive and will be the start of something new and better:

UPDATE :That fact is this incident has made me realise that I need to change my life, my room has become a gilded cage full of trinkets that have become a poor substitute for my dwindling happiness, I've been stuck in a rut for years now, I can never be content living in a room any more, owning my own washing machine has become a dream of mine but I should have bigger aspirations than that, at the age of 34 I should already have all the basic amenities in my life.

And below it add that "I WILL change my life. I WILL improve things. Every day I WILL take one more step to making my goal happen".

What's your job at the moment lowrider? What qualifications do you have? Just GCSEs (or what ever they were called in your day)?

I left school with a few GCSEs, ranging from d to c, I went to college to do IT but left in my second year as I was struggling, my friend got me a job in a local restaurant, I KP'd there for years, now I supervise the kitchen there and help the chefs, there's not really anyway to dress it up, basically I've been stuck in a kitchen for 17 years on a low income, but saying that I have done a variety of jobs while still working at the restaurant, I helped run a small computer shop for three years but it had to close eventually as we wasn't taking enough money, a lot of small computer shops have had to close down in the local area, they don't seem very sustainable.

If I'm being honest I don't find education very easy but I'm willing to give it another go, I do have dyslexia, I don't won't to use that as an excuse though, tbh I'm not even sure if that's an appropriate diagnosis, but that being said I do having some kind of learning difficulties as even now I struggle to recite the alphabet confidently, I confuse time with money, ie I sometimes think a 100mins is an hour an 60 pennies in a pound and vice versa, stuff like that, I had to change my bank a few years ago because I kept struggling to fill in the paying in slips and the clerks would only accept my money with a slip so I moved to Barclays, I told them about my problem and they were fine, small things like that can become a big obstacle in life at times.

I'd ask the landlord to knock £25 a month of the rent, its peanuts to him and probably a lot to you.

hell, id threaten to hold all rent payments until the guy has gone. i dont think thats unreasonable. worst case the landlord kicks you out so its a win win situation.

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you pulling in yearly salary?

atm about 8k :o

After 17 years that quite shocking actually, i didn't even know job salary's went that low. I'm sure you can find a basic cleaning job for about 12-13k. You're english seems to be fine and you sound reasonably smart so I'd even look for the lowest office job you can find and work you're why up.

But in the end you won't get anywhere unless you have a fire in you belly and determination

lowrider, you've explained your flaws as it were.
You may not be a mathematician or as grammatically expert as Stephen Fry. You may struggle with words on occasion.
But don't let it be an overwhelming reason for not pushing forward.
I personally have not found your use of enlgish in this thread any better or worse than mine or most others in here. We all make typos and miss words out. no biggie.
There's an old addage "if people call you stupid often enough, you'll start believing you ARE stupid!"
Stop thinking of your flaws and start thinking about your positives.
You've already taken a huge step in dealing with the druggie in a way that no one else in this thread, for all their/our wisdom (and wise-cracking) didn't suggest or anticipate. And you got a result from it.
You showed us that you can think straight and make a rational decision, some posts in here maybe just gave you the confidence to initiate things.
You are know starting to think about where you want to be in what you want to do. It won't easy acheiving the where and the what. But it's impossible to achieve without trying.
Keep at it buddy.

"If you're going through hell..............keep going!" - Winston Churchill

edit: just read this back and i can see plnety of unintentional mistakes. See? There!

Mate, can i give you some advise re: work, the catering industry is really easy to get into, and if you're willing to work, sometimes stupid hours, and learn, you could get somewhere in a decent position within a couple of years, even if you start as a sink monkey then watch the chefs and ask to train up to be a chef, once you can cook, you're open to thousands of jobs, even down in Newquay i'd imagine, plenty of takeaways / restaurants and hotels, even holiday parks with people that need feeding ;).

You'll start on NMW probably but at 40 hrs a week, that's about £190 after tax, and that's just to start, once you get up to a level of chef de partie (one up from commis), and it's not difficult, you're likely to be demanding a minimum of £15k p/a at a guess.

Other advantages to this is you won't be spending much time alone to ponder on life, you'll make new friends and most of the time, it's a good laugh working in the kitchen, you'll usually get free meals too.

Experience is usually better than qualifications in our industry, as a head chef / kitchen manager, i'd rather employ somebody who was enthusiastic to learn the trade than someone who came in with some paper qualifications. You'll learn a lot more in the job than at college.
