today i was asking someone "nicely" not to park in a staff bay and they flipped their lid and had me by the throat. so i pulled away and then headbutted the guy and he was half on the floor and half in the footwell of his car, his nose was bleeding and he said he was gonna report me. he got in his car and wheeled spinned off.

obviously headbutting someone is a bit over the top but he did assault me first.
if he does report me who do you recon would get into trouble the most?
after all he hit me first lol.

Oooh you really shouldn't have left out the headbutting part. If he does report the incident, that'll cause you trouble.

If I were you, I'd tell your boss about that "additional detail" ASAP. If he asks why you left it out the first time, say you were still in shock from the incident and didn't know what to do. Or something.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd quite like to know more about the build up to it and the whole story.

I can't imagine you asked him to move and he just straight away grabbed you by the throat.

My brother does exactly the same as you, He has cameras around everywhere, Maybe you are on camera and can use that footage as evidence as self defence. 2 people jumped my brother not so long ago and he ended up visting the hospital. (nothing serious thank god)

Seems reasonable, and I say that as a nancy hippy. He is guilty of assault and battery. Were you fearful? Seems fair enough.

Oh yeah, while being grabbed by the throat just wander over to your manager or pick up the phone and call the police. You aren't too clever are you? He did what was necessary to make himself safe - self defence.

I still believe Head Butting someone is very severe. There are plenty of simple ways of removing a hand from your neck as I am sure most people would know.

A Head Butt could have had serious consequences.

Thumbs in eyes?

Finger jab his throat or see who has strongest squeeze?

Ask politely?

I don't know what I'd have done either, the other guy kicked off what could have been and was a serious incident. He didn't have too, and people can get a fright and use more force than they normally would.

I'd have tickled him myself, till he wet himself.

I think its safe to say it was a knee jerk reaction from the OP not something planned.
