Neighbours using wheelie bin

I'd say to myself 'well, I won't be leaving the bin out again'

Then continue to not leave the bin out, really not a big deal!!!

it's said a lot, but this really is a tedious first world problem.

How does that work if you leave for work at 8am and the bins aren't collected until 9?

A lot of people telling the OP to get a life are probably in Studentsville and / or have no pride in their properties.

Also get over the 'first world problem' meme. Everything's relative, we live in the first world and don't have to worry about starvation and lack of fresh water.

I once watched the next door neighbours son, being sent to jump the dividing fence to deposit a bin bag of rubbish in my bin - as well as 2 other houses close by.

I took it back out. Next time I saw them, I gave them it back - just said "here you go, I think this is yours" - and that was the end of it.

I really don't mind if the bin has been put out to be emptied - that means I'm finished filling it, and whoever likes can add their crap to it - ticks me off when its only mid-way through the fortnight!

Sounds like you're taking this far too seriously, unless you don't get on with your neighbours.

Everyone on my street uses eachother bins if they need to, never had an issue with it, I mean its not like they're putting human remains in it (unless they are)

Not a big deal in my opinion, the way I see it, if one week you have no room in your bin, why not use a neighbours? it all ends up in the same place anyway

Ok there seems to be some deep seated anger issues here, probably derived from a relationship breakdown or un-fulfilment in another area.

Have you tired putting a sheet of glass over the bin ?

I take it you didn't read my second post? The one where I mentioned that the result of this is that I then end up with an extra bag of rubbish that I then have to store for up to two weeks?

This is a problem for me. If you don't get it, then just accept it and stay out of the conversation.

Oh, and if anyone wants to give me any more of this "First worl problem" crap - try this. Take a hammer and hit your thumb until it breaks. This can be repaired at your local hospital, making it a "first world problem". While you do this, keep reminding yourself that its not "really" a problem. ****s sake.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, I'll try again "GD, what would you do, assuming that you don't live at home with your parents and understand that having a bag of rubbish kicking around until the next bin day because yours is full is actually a pain in the arse". Better? What is it with all the "This wouldn't bother me, why does it bother you" responses in GD all the time? Is it just trolling?

Oh, and to the teretorial thing, I thought about defending myself, but you know what? The hell with you. This is my gods damned house, I work ****ING hard to pay for it, everything in it, and the utilities that go with it (Which are a small fortune by the way) so I am fully ****ing entitled to be ****ed off when people **** with it. Don't like it? Don't understand it? Tough! My ****ing house, so **** off if you've nothing useful to say.

The other things - the rubbish is being put in between it being collected and me bringing it in.
In terms of being put in there, I am fairly sure it was empty when I brought it in, so I think they have come onto my property the second time, but I'm not SURE that it was empty so I can't prove it. However, I will be checking when I bring it in from now on. If they are coming onto the property, they will either be dealing with the police, or my foot in place of thier teeth, or both.

Yea they're just trolling.

IMO at your age you should be able to act without the need of posting it on the internet seeing as it's not really a matter of right or wrong, you know your options.

Then put it back that evening, OP mentioned days, not one day-time!

And you're right, OP, call the police, NOW!

Why exactly is OP asking for advise on how to talk to his neighbors? Because that would be the logical next action to retrieve intents/motives of why someone else is using his bin. No other action should be taken until you have gained a better understanding of the situation. I thought this is common sense.

Yeh it's annoying, my bin men come at random times and i have bin bags building up when i miss them.

To remedy this i use my neighbours bin. Screw him, i don't know him anyway..

PS OP. You sound like my racist grandmother.

Not trying to be particularly argumentative... but you didn't give the whole story regarding it ACTUALLY inconveniencing you before going off your nut. I'd be very annoyed too if I was actually bringing a bin IN that had someone else's rubbish in it after mine had been emptied.

We were on good terms with our previous neighbours and never had any issue with them dumping the odd bag in when theirs was full a couple of days before collection. Coming on to your property uninvited/unsanctioned to do so isn't on at all, but the police won't do anything for you. Trespass is a civil matter, not criminal.

Annoying as it may be... I'd recommend minding your tone lest a Don send you on holiday.

1) Put on gloves
2) open bag
3) Identify neighbour
4) Inform them it is not acceptable and to stop

It's not that complex an issue is it?
