Neighbours using wheelie bin

For anyone who does want to buy a bin lock I got one of these. Best thing is it won't damage the bin (it's just a lockable clamp) so the council won't complain if you use it.

Can anyone explain to me how these other people are filling his bin? I don't get it... even when I lived in a terrace nobody else had access to our bin unless it was left out in the alley/street.

OP puts the bin out to be collected and goes to work, when they return home they find the bin had been collected and then while it is still on the street someone else has sneakily put a bag in the OP's bin before they can bring it back into their property.

He leaves the bin out to be collected. After collection he isnt there to bring the bin back onto his property(Work, etc) And rubbish is being put in before his return home to collect his bin.

Atleast that's what I've sort of picked up from reading the thread. But I could be wrong.

FYI. I have a worse problem, My neighbours brother parks his car in front of my house on a daily basis. And leaves it there for 2\3 days at a time. He wont park it in front of my neighbours house because his house is opposite the road that turns onto our street, he's worried about people crashing into the back of his car.

My Problem, What about people coming to visit me.... They have to park infront of my neighbours house and risk being crashed into by people taking the corner like idiots.

But meh. I've complained, He stopped doing it for like a week, And its back to being parked there

Sounds like you know who it is or find out who it is.

Take out offending bag approach sinners door step turn bag over, slice bottom of bag, place on door mat.

Or just say no

anyone that puts rubbish in someone elses bin is just plain rude. If someone knocked on the door and asked then it's not to much of a problem aslong as the rubbish is jsut rubbish. Like others have said you really do have to be careful with what is in your bin or else they won't take it away. You get black listed and they will check your rubbish every collection.

i laugh at the people saying put a lock on the bin.....do your bin men have the key?!

Put one of those cheap as chips PIR alarms with the key-fob on-off switch in the top of your bin, glue it in the lid, watch with amusement as anyone who dose not have the fob gets 120db blast off the alarm as they open the lid.

Someone nicked my recyc last year, got a new one fairly promptly from the council, then eBayed a sticker for it. Just search 'custom bin labels' and you can state your house number, some sellers even offer post code.

Sounds like a very serious problem....lol. Can't imagine ever getting upset because my neighbour used my bin.

Give me your address and I will come and fill your bin. What will you then do with your own rubbish?

My neighbours and i have an agreement that if the bin is out on collection day and there is some room then that can be used up by the neighbour. But you can't do it 2 weeks before the bin is collected. This is called communication which, sadly, does not seem to happen too much between neighbours these days.

You've obviously never had my problems where I can't get my own rubbish in and it will be 2 weeks until they come again so I have to use my time and petrol money to take bags to the incinerator.
You've never had bin men not take your bin because somebody has put the wrong rubbish in it and once again it costs me time & money to dispose of my rubbish when I've already paid.

I think you're wonderful if that wouldn't upset you.
