NeverWinter

The betas have been 4 hour events at PST, I tried twice then gave up. by the time I had downloaded the client and messed about with accounts and passwords it was over.
I decided to uninstall and wait for the finished product where it will be easier to make a new fresh account.

Not sure what your problem is then as mine downloaded as quick as my rural internet can go which admittedly is not very fast.

I have no clue tried both the direct and torrent, plus port forwarding for both and it's showing as 3 days to download. annoying as hell, just tried some random other games from PWE servers and they all go like poo off a shovel so i guess it's just bad luck on this one

Well, it's certainly pretty, that seems to be about all it has going for it in the hour or two I played. Does the sparkly trail go away after a while, or are you led by the hand the entire time? It's even there during adventures when there's only one way to go!

I know I should probably stick with it a bit longer, but it's boring the bejeesus out of me so far.

press z and it goes away, somebody didn't pay attention to the pop ups ;)

combat is good, the UI is a bit clunky. I like the idea behind The Foundry. Also needs to be optimised more(I hope that will come when it's released)

So anybody on the beta over the weekend? I got a beta key and gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. I have put a lot of time into the novels (the single player RPG's not so much) and so I was drawn to this more so than say Guildwars.

I liked it tbh and as it will be free to play and client free (as far as I know) I cannot see any reason why I would not play when it is finally released.

Anyone know when the other beta weekend will be?

I too read the novels (quite religiously up until a few years ago), and was really looking forward to this when it was just going to CO-OP, how MMO is it? What’s the foundry like? Is it more DDO or WoW like?

I have Foundry Alpha 24/7 Access atm, i have started work on my first quest, i like it, although the game itself feels a bit watered down to me, hopefully thats due to it being beta and not all the content and functions are released yet.

I would love to see more races and classes as the current batch is very underwhelming.

Yeah watered down was the impression i came away with after the beta weekend. Enjoyed it though, will definitely play for free and see if it grabs hold of me. Loved the Mages (Control Wizard whatever) directional blink, hated the enforced slow crawl after you did it - youve already got one limiter in there in the staina requirement, why add another? Worried about PvP, it all seems a bit cookie cutter at the moment so may just come down to luck rather than skill, really interested in the player created content.

Hope they dont wait too long for open beta, theres a lot happening in the next couple of months.

Neverwinter Beta Weekend IV

Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios have announced that on April 30, 2013, the free-to-play action MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter is heading into Open Beta, allowing millions of players unrestricted access to the game world.

"The direct response and support from the Neverwinter community during our Closed Beta Weekends have pushed us to make Neverwinter the best free-to-play MMORPG anyone has yet seen," said Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich. "On April 30, we go into Open Beta. That's when the world we've labored for years to build comes to life – that's when every gamer can login and play what we've worked so hard to create. We could not be more excited."

As an added thank you to the committed players who have participated in the Founders Program, beginning 12:00 p.m. (PDT) on Friday, April 12, Founders will get the first opportunity to experience Neverwinter's professions system as part of a newly added 60-hour Beta Weekend 4. Founding members may simultaneously pursue four different professions: Leadership, Mailsmithing, Platesmithing and Leatherworking.

"We've never been in a better place launching a game," said Jack Emmert, CEO, Cryptic Studios. "While the entire team is focused on launching Neverwinter's Open Beta on April 30, we still wanted to thank those committed Founders who stuck with us. Since the beginning of Neverwinter’s Beta Weekends, our Founders have shown us that Neverwinter offers engaging game mechanics, unique features and a gameplay experience that is parallel to subscription or paid games. They have become our biggest supporters and we wanted to give them Beta Weekend 4 as a token of our appreciation."

Interested adventurers can still become Founders through Neverwinter’s Founder’s Pack Program. Benefits of picking up the $199 pack include exclusive access to Beta Weekend 4, permanent in-game items that are unique to Founders, early access to Open Beta, and VIP perks.

I have played this game since alpha closed beta and through all closed betas. I can tell you that for a F2P game ( do not be fooled by F2P since all these games have micro transactions in game to get the better stuff..only if you want )

The community is really nice and most of the content is really fun. Combat is really unique and the PvE is actually challenging unlike other MMO's.

For next beta weekend you can only enter if you buy the Founders Pack or the Guardians Pack. Those who had a key in the other closed betas cannot participate.
