New 144hz 4k monitor spotted, INSANE PRICES!!!

Currently it's only "Samsung have said", with no firm confirmation. Not sure the exact source, but a few websties are reporting it with the other models in the pipeline:

It also appears to be a curved panel, which is a shame.

Think I'm more interested in me 1440 monitors than 4k... From the Monitor Nerds link:

Samsung’s 100Hz 34-inch variants found on monitors like the C34F791 will also get a makeover this year. The refreshed options will now feature a native 144Hz refresh rate, unlike the overclocking 120Hz implementations we see on models like the Acer Z35P.

However, the Asus model mentioned there is Freesync, and the Acer is GSync.

I think I am the target audience for these new HDR monitors and am one of those mugs who was, while not happy to, was willing to pay the early adopter/new tech tax for the ultrawide 35" versions coming. 2.2k for this 27" though just shows either the retailers or manufacturers are living in a fantasy land. I'm sure they will sell some, and the tech is new, but it's a gaming monitor at the end of the day.

I suspected the delays were due to overheating. Seems I may have been right as this monitor has an audible fan to keep it cool. The price you pay for high brightness LEDs - they get damn hot.

so maybe not that long now.
The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ prototype was showcased in June 2016 and still hadn’t quite been released so the fact they’ve shown off the new MINI LED ProArt model doesn’t necessarily mean it’s anywhere near sadly. Ps I’m waiting in full press release about that screen with more info.

Have you heard anything about the 38" ultrawide 120hz+ that LG was promising a while back? I've got a single 38" ultrawide. I really want a second, but it's really gotta be high refresh rate.

latest i've seen on the 37.5" high refresh panel is a MArch 2019 production expectation: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/39.htm#panels_lgdisplay
HDR, High Refresh IPS and Ultrawide combined

In the 37.5" space there's already an existing LM375QW1 option from LG.Display with a 3840 x 1600 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate (often overclocked to 75Hz). In Q1 2019 (March current ETA) there are plans to release a new LM375QW2 which will offer the same resolution but a higher 144Hz refresh rate. This panel will also be VESA HDR 1000 compliant, with a 2300R curvature, 98% DCI-P3 gamut, 5ms response time and 4-side borderless design. It's not specified how the VESA HDR 1000 is achieved but we would expect some kind of FALD backlight to achieve those kind of specs.

There are also plans for a 34" ultrawide with 3440 x 1440 resolution, HDR 400 compliance, 144Hz refresh rate and a 1900R curvature. Planned for production from May 2018.

suspect the delay will be because of the move to a high end HDR option, and that's likely to make it expensive as well
