New £20 Note

Truth! LOL! The fact that the Bank of England is essentially a Scottish creation is really making me start to think that most "patriotism" is nothing more than conformity without any real purpose behind it. Who care's if there's a Scott on an English banknote? Why is it bothering people?

Well it wasnt a Scottish creation it was initated by a Scot in the employ of the English. I would say a British creation for a British bank.;)

Do a bloody search.

Ive tryed that before, If you search her nam,e in google you get flooded with results.

Why not just ask some people right from the source search rather then search for ages ;)

Im sure someone is nice enough to say so or not, Its not like its taking any time out of your life seeing that post and if it is then you must have a very very busy life and probably shouldnt be on a forum :)

Scottish banknotes are unusual in that they are technically not legal tender anywhere in the UK - not even in Scotland - they are in fact promissory notes. Indeed, no banknotes (even Bank of England notes) are now legal tender in Scotland - although like debit cards and credit cards, they are still used as money because they are commonly understood to be money.

But it would be better for you to learn how to use Google more effectively... :) ;)

I wonder if those people still think England was the one that took over Scotland in the accent of James 1st to England all those years ago creating the act of union in the process? :p

I have to say those notes really don't look that nice... I suppose we will get used to them eventually though.

Not after ive got up early, spent almost all day driving none stop and then after just getting home having to get ready for the final shift at work where i got no breaks due to the manager ordering too much stock and we had to get it on the shelves as quick as we could with only 3 or 4 of us working.

I'd never heard of her so I searched wikipedia, bingo, I took me about 5 seconds. Instead of giving you the answer I figured some encouragement to learn would help you more in the long run.

You try driving in 30+ degree weather with no Aircon, No radio with a 21 year old car along a road that is one of the most dangerous in the nation that is just straight, So straight that you only see 5 or 6 coners on the thing untill yiou finally reach a turn off about 200 kms away while the senery ios all the same and you only see about 7 towns all up with most of them being one street towns with less then 50 people living in them that have a a post office and a small store(Often in the same building)
Now imagine doing that while you extreemly tired trying to get home in time for work ;)

Wah wah wah if you channelled the effort you put into your extraneous whining into something constructive maybe YOU'D appear on a Fiver in the dim and distant future?

If they're going to choose a Scotsman couldn't they choose a less obscure one? I would have chosen James Watt the inventor of the Steam Engine and pretty much the turning point of manual to mechanical labour.
