Gosh it looks HUGE!

I'm wondering, will that card fit on an ASUS P5K series mobo and not block a lot of the SATA ports?

Ok thanks mr cheese, I won't cancel my order for a P5K-Sata-less edition then! :)

If it doesn't fit then I know where you live!

Now that's a good score, better than the Ultra @ 720/2400 on the same link. But its not that great
Well better than an Ultra sounds good to me, dunno what else to say I mean the 512MB-GT and 512MB-GTS are very similar cards no? Should the extra shaders have made a bigger score then?

Wait for some more results I guess, who knows it could mean the 8800GT is even bigger bang for buck.

At stock speeds there may be a reasonable difference. Crank them both up, based on what I've seen you'd be hard pressed to see the difference in game. Once the prices drop to where they should be the GT looks like the card to get. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the GT dried up all together. I need another card, my GT is for another PC. What to do....

If those results "766/2000/1030" are with the stock voltage then thats pretty good. The Bios mod should take it over 800 easily, maybe more espeically with the extra phase.

I seem to recall early GT review samples not overclocking that well.

We will soon find out.

Yup but so would the GT if it was clocked to 650. It doesn't show the extra shaders. Or would the fillrate include that?

Well the core and shader speeds are each 8.3% higher than the GT, whilst the memory speed is 11% higher. Despite this, the texture fill rate is a full 23.8% higher than the GT so there must be something else at work here than simple speed bumps. More SP or ROPs?

From those pictures it looks like it doesnt have 2xSLI connectors, does that mean it wont be compatible with the new 3xSLI 780i mobos ?

If thats the case picking up the OCUK 8800 GTX's @ 270 quid looks more appealling for someone who wants big perfomance.

Or would the fillrate include that?

41.6 GTexels/s means it has 64 TMU's

Interesting that the reduced raster units and upped texture units substantially.

Matthew
Yeah, they doubled the texture units per shader cluster from G80 to G92. The ROP's are attached to the memory channels, 4 per 64bit channel. But they've improved the ROP's compression algorithms for high resolutions to compensate. Allegedly.

So according to the snippets available so far, the GTS is not much faster than a GT running similar clocks. Plus GTS's do not seem to overclock any better either.
