The report's sources say the GeForce 8800 GTS 512 will appear on boards in the $299-349 price band - almost twice the price of AMD's recently released ATI Radeon HD 3800 series boards.

aww carp
double = 270-300 perhaps just over judging by the premiums england have to pay
Well since a GT should be $199 which equates to £140 here (they were for 2 hours on launch and will be again soon) and the GTS is $100 more which is £50 I would expect the cheapest vanilla card to cost no more than £200.
Which is a buit of a kick in the teeth to anybody who had to pay £200+ for an overpriced GT card.
Nvidia has postponed its upcoming GeForce 8800GTS GPU from the original launch date of November 19 to December 11, according to sources at graphics card makers.
Yup they will be pricey, the are gona be in the same shortage as the GT's as they are the same chips, so we'll be paying high premium prices for them just like were paying for GT's now.
I fail to see how you can claim there will be a shortage just the GT's like its a fact. Although i agree its quite likely.
Maybe there is a shortage of GTs because all the cores are going in the GTS.
Just a thought.
someone wanted to buy a GT but can't get one because it's hardly in stock, they might wait till the GTS releases,
I think thats what people are starting to do TBH.
