Odd that the 2900 is 2nd best there, in my rig on prey its not beating the 8800GT.
totally agree with your guess at retail price
which means surely the 8800gt most places should drop by a good 40 pounds to fit in line
originally the 8800gt before popularity, benchmarks, and lack of stock effected prices was being sold pre-order at between £140-£150 - which seems about right.

They also did AA/AF tests, 2900XT takes a big hit, it's odd how everybody links to the non aa/af results now.
Its the only one i could find as the original review was taken down due to NDA.

Why are you being defensive? The only result you could find was the non AA/AF result, I was not having a go at you, that’s just what people seem to refer to now even when there are AA/AF results.
In fact somebody did it in another thread with that review and linked to all the non AA/AF results completely excluding results with AA/AF, I just think it’s odd that people do that.
Here it is, just one with 4xAA.

GTS get's crippled with AA against the GTX, this is what all reviews will show tommorow .

GTX is still the king at stock, if the GTS comes out around £210 which early signs looks like it may then its £60 cheaper than a retail GTX.
Also it seems the early GTS's are overclocking to 800+ Mhz on the core which is a 150Mhz increase, where you are lucky to get to 650Mhz which is a 75Mhz on a GTX. I couldnt get over 620 on my GTX when I had it, cracking card though.

So let me get this straight, the 8800GTX is faster because?
It has a faster memory interface and more memory?
Does it have more SP's too? because it seems that the newer cards have faster GPU/Shader/Mem speeds so its not quite clear to me why the 8800GTX is faster?

Its the lack of that which is holding back the GTS with high res and lots of AA/AF.
The GTS and GTX have the same SP's 128.
At stock, the faster GTS clocks keep it level or slightly beats the GTX when there isn't heavy AA/AF but the GTX pulls away a bit when there is.
If the GTS can run 24/7 around 800 core then I think they would be neck and neck, but tomorrow we will know for sure.
Ignoring the OEM GTX for £240 they are normally around £270 for retail, where as the GTS looks like it may be £210-£230.
Yes both have 128SP however the 8800GTX has 768mb memory, 384 bit bus and 24 ROP's vs 16 ROP's on the new GTS which is due to the memory configuration.
