New AMD 300 series chiphell benchies

I'm guessing that AMD will make the AiO version optional (with a better reference cooler on the standard model). They have to be nuts to think people will go for AiO units when running multiple cards (unless it's restricted to 390X only...)

what is wrong are it's temps, it's impossible to keep 300W down at only 75 degrees, it must be Water cooled or it's all BS instead

if it's Water cooled we have a problem, not only will it look horrid and Clumsy with 4 rubber tubes (crossfire) but also you'll need to swap out it's 2 rads for a single 360

it's 100% critical that the pc looks good inside, i hope AMD Matt passes this on

water cool will only work with a Dual Card...i.e you dont need CF

Nvidia might bounce back, because i'd deffo be interested in a re-modelled 970, not that they'll do it though, but you never know

True, but the Nvidia reference 970/980's offer better/more efficient cooling than AMD's 290x reference design.

I don't think that's the case about it being technically better (maybe a little), it just has far less heat to contend with. It's like if you put an Intel stock cooler on an AMD FX it would just get massively overwhelmed.

Would be interesting if AMD use the modular option. For those that don't know the ref cooler on the 295 was designed/made by Asetek who also did the coolers on the AIO GTX580/680/980 cards, and Asetek actually have modular options. I.E a card could have a 120mm rad and QDC's enabling two sets of cards/rads to be linked, or one of the rads removed to sacrifice temps for space, or even replace both rads with a 240 or 360.

the Nvidia cards are underpowered on purpose.... the 970 is a far more powerful card than it actually is, this means that it'll be cooler in its Ref version as well.

oh the dorbell..........HELL YEA MY In Win 707 HAS ARRIVED..........i'm off, talk later :D:D:D:D:D:D

oh my God the case is beautiful, i'm stunned to see it, it's the best PC case i've ever seen.

I doubt it's going to be a water cooler, yes it run's cooler than the reference 290X at the same power level, but people forget how inefficient that Hawaii Reference cooler actually is, with a normal high quality AIB cooler the same card run's at less than 70c. that is cooler than the temperature stated for the 380X, so it can't be a water cooler.

I think it's an air cooler, just better than the Hawaii reference cooler, which isn't going to be difficult.

yep hopefully they didnt let fisher price design the new cooler

Exactly. The old AMD reference exhaust blowers are very noisy and not exactly good at cooling. Any dual or triple fan AIB is much better.
